What does this mean and why would you put it in an add to sell a gun? Does this mean you don’t want to sell to someone without a LTC or you just want to look responsible?

For me it means I will give preference to a buyer who has one rather than the felons who slink around on gun classifieds. If it’s going to someone with a LTC I might make more of a drive, give them a better price during negotiations or mail a long gun intrastate.

Someone with an LTC has passed some level of criminal background check, and is statistically VERY unlikely to be of a criminal mindset, and so is more likely to be safe to conduct a gun sale with.

Then why wouldn’t you only sell to a LTC instead of just preferring to do so? That seems like being on a dating sight and saying I prefer Chinese chics unless an eager white girl comes along and wants some.

To me, as a buyer, it’s an automatic pass. This is still America.

No obligation to show any form of ID when purchasing a firearm, privately, FTF in Texas.

Watch out I had a guy on the TFF want me to sign a bill of sale when we meet up, I passed then he p.m. me a week later reoffered the deal. I told him for $50 less I'd think about it, I'm still thinking about it five years later.

There is no way to validate a Texas LTC. I think FFLs have the ability to check during dealer transactions. DPS is very slow to collect revoked LTC licenses.

After seeing the pics on here of his vehicles and equipment buried in mud up to the frames or worse, I don't think in good conscience I could put a nice gun in such jeopardy.

Anyone can say they have a LTC, you gonna fall for that one? Probably no way to verify if it's legit, so you are spinning your wheels.

I saw some guy last week wanted to show a Texas Driver License in the Trading Post section for a gun, I guess he didn't realize Texas issues Driver Licenses to illegal aliens in Texas who are on DACA progam.

I have gotten to the point that I will ask for a valid DL or LTC along with a bill of sale. Called CYA these days, unless I personally know the person.
Time is not wasted if you spend it with the ones you love.

Nothing at all, you don't realize some illegal alien can get DL in Texas and other states they hand out DL to anyone regardless of thier immigration status. If a real criminal wanted a gun they can go to any area like in Oak Cliff and buy a weed or cocaine and any type of weapon they want at a drug house, Usually ran by a cartel
