I’ve reloaded rifle ammo for a while and am comfortable with what I’m load for. I’m looking to start reloading 350 Legend ammo. I’ve never reloaded any straight walled ammo nor pistol ammo. I’m wanting to get a good set of dies. I’ve read where using a tapered crimp is best for this caliber. For those of you that have reloaded 350L what dies would you recommend?

I also have an AR that I’ll be loading for, will I need a specific die such as a small base die to shoot the reloads from?

I had a 350 legend AR for a few years... I used an inexpensive set of lee dies.. they did the job fine....
I didnt use any special dies.. just the standard lee 3 carbide die set..

I've done a fair amount of reloading for the 350 Legend, I really like this cartridge and my son and I have had great success shooting pigs with it. The knockdown power is awesome for an AR-15 cartridge. I use Lee dies and they work fine. Reloading the 350 Legend is just like any straight wall cartridge, you may need to flare the case mouth a bit to seat the bullet but I don't flare it very much. I started out crimping them but now I generally don't crimp them and I've not had issues with the bullets pushing back in the case. If you want to crimp them, use a Lee Factory Crimp Die, it works great.

^^^ What BIGDAD said.
I have reloaded quite a few 350 legend myself. Crimping is not necessary. I started with some RCBS dies. Worst set of dies I have ever used. Bought a set of LEE dies and have never had a problem since. Pretty easy cartridge to load for in my opinion. Extremely accurate in a bolt gun and the AR isn’t bad either.

Cool, thanks! I ordered the Lee Pacesetter dies and a Lee crimp die, a bag of Starline brass and some bullets. Been watching a couple of you tube videos on reloading the 350L. I’ll be taking it slow for sure to start with as this straight wall reloading is new to me. Bottle neck rifle cases I’m good with, I just want to get it right and now mess anything up, especially me nor any guns!

Not that the bullet is going to be pushed into the brass by the lands. Have you measured CBTO, chambered a round, ejected that round, and then measured CBTO again?

Buddy just got a .400 Legend, following his adventure.
I believe Redding make small base dies for the .350.

8yo grandson got a 350Legend Savage Axis bolt action. I had to do a trigger job on the 10Lb. Trigger, now 3.5 lb. I am in the process of handloading some 147 Gr XTPs as low recoil rounds. According to my software should be a MV of 2000 fps. I also use the Lee die set with the FCD. I will add some data after a range trip this week.

I used the Lyman MSR series dies when I was loading for .350 Legend, it was what I could get my hands on at the time and they worked well, decent accuracy but very punchy recoil impulse.

Not the biggest fan of lee dies but I would get one of their fcd for it. I’ve always been happy with RCBS and hornady dies, don’t think you could go wrong with either.

No, I haven't done that measurement, I'll do that.
