Original Ithaca Model 37 Deer Slayer, 12gauge, 2 3/4”, 24” barrel w/ rifle sights. This shotgun is in outstanding condition. I would rate the finish as 98% on both the wood and metal. $450.00 ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/10/full-60741-435332-img_6063.jpeg)

This would also take a regular barrel? I'm interested in it though I don't need it....it's a sweet looking old gun brother

Yes, post 855,000 serial number Model 37’s barrels are interchangeable without the need for refitting.

Is that a rifled barrel? Drilled and tapped for a scope?

No, Hastings made a rifled barrel that fit this M37 but the originals were smooth bore.

Interesting. My dad has one with a rifled barrel that I am almost certain he bought that way in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Thanks for giving me a reason to give him a call.
He absolutely loves his, btw. He lives in Illinois, which is shotgun only for deer, and could stock a museum with the deer he's taken with it.

Ithaca began producing the M37 Deer Slayers with rifled barrels in1988. Hastings also made really good after market barrels for the M37’s during that time period. While Ithaca M37 barrels were interchangeable for M37’s with serial #’s above 855,000 M37’s with serial numbers below 855,000 needed to be factory fitted due to a different thread design.
