So when I used this feeder in young county the raccoons never could get to the corn. But the East Texas ones figured it out pretty quick by climbing to the top of the barrel, then sliding down the side side of the barrel to the solar panel and reaching under to swing to the feed unit. Like I have done with my regular feeders for years, I axle greased the legs of the feeder. That stopped them, but not for long. They figured out they could climb a nearby tree with a limb above my feeder and fall onto it. It was a long drop too. Well I fixed that. As of a couple days ago via chain saw. No more tree.

It is. Originals were taken with the cheapest trail cameras I could find so not great pictures to begin with. I have several of them out mostly out for visible trespasser/theft deterrence. The originals are either deleted or still on an old laptop that is kept in my camper stand deep in a swamp where there is no cell service and stay there after I format the cards and put them back. So the phone picture of the screen that I only have because I texted it to a friend is the best your gonna get. It still shows the story of my coon bandit feeder problem. If I get a picture of a turdy point buck, I will bring the SD card home, but not for trash pandas. cheers

some coons are craftier than others, might also have something to do with hunger. The place sw of Ozone, they are straight from the devil!!! When I first put up feeders about 10 years ago, my next trip out they had torn the timer boxes almost completely off the bottom of the barrels. I fixed them and put cages on the bottom, the next trip they had stripped about 1/2 the screws out holding the cages on. I went back with larger self tapping screws about 3 per side. Then they started tearing the wires off the cages. I set out 4 live traps side by side with corn poured thru for bait. The next morning I had 6 coons that I relocated and set up again the next night to catch 5 more, relocated and set again to catch 5 more the 3rd night. LO doesn't allow killing varmints but okay to relocate. I ended up putting up 4" PVC on the legs which has helped tremendously. Each time I go out, I set live traps and catch several each night. I would bet I have relocated 50+ over the past 5 years. Funny thing is the deer walk right past the traps full of coons to jump in the feeder pen to eat the corn under the feeder.
