Now that we are back from our tour of Arkansas state parks, I have to say that Arkansas impressed me. Great roads, great scenery, some great state parks. Food, not so much. I am truly sick of fried food.

We avoided Little Rock, or I’d be a bit more critical.

Diesel ran about 50 cents above Texas prices.

I love the northwest part of Arkansas.

Of course I’ve only been there in the summertime.

Beautiful area.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Just returned from Central Pennsylvania. Some of the most beautiful landscape youlll ever see. Gorgeous forests, farms and rivers. Nice people. Fall foliage in full color right now.

A buddy of mine is from Arkansas and he tells me I need to retire to the Heber Springs area. I've only been to Arkansas a few times so I'm not really familiar with the state all that much. Colorado and New Mexico are off my list. I'm getting too old to shovel snow. The prices out west are laughable.

Arkansas is beautiful. The people are weird, but not all bad.

It’s like taking a step back in time, in a lot of places up there.

Great place to own land, have some in Hot Springs. We go almost monthly, plan to retire there at some point. Was in Jasper last month, gorgeous.

My mom was born there and her whole side of the fam is from there. Great Grandfather was a horse and buggy country doc in southern Ark. between ElDorado and Pine Bluff on the Ouachita River area. His wife, my great grandmother, lived to be 105. Probably had bacon grease every day of her life.

We spent the last 2 days of our tour at the wife’s brother’s place at Junction City. I love his place. He used to have chicken farms, and when he retired, he had a house moved to the end of one chicken house. Had the chicken house cleaned out and turned into a 3 car garage, a workshop and man cave. It’s 300 yards long. The greatest man cave/workshop in the world. All concrete floored. Two jeeps, one boat, one truck, two forklifts, at least 4 welding machines, 5 bbq pits, hot tub, and every tool known to man.

My daughter goes to school at Southern Arkansas in Magnolia and so far she really likes it! I like Arkansas, except for that 55mph road from Texarkana to Magnolia! We did some exploring a while back and there is some really pretty scenery compared to Clay county Texas!!haha

NW Arkansas will draw more and more out-of-state money during the next few years. Lower property values, lower property taxes, decent cost of living and beautiful scenery. Good place to invest, if it isn't already too late.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.
