How much time your spent in Aransas Pass?
Not exactly a place you do to the bar in slippers or a polo.

Not exactly a place you do to the bar in slippers or a polo.
skinner will chime in here shortly but if you go to the bar, borrow a pair of his overalls I've only driven through maybe stopping for gas and whatnot plus the ferry ride. Already own several pairs of overalls.

Very good mid-80s movie, Alamo Bay starring Ed Harris, his soon to be real life wife and now wife of nearly 40 years, Amy Madigan, an adolescent Dat Nyguen of A&M and Cowboys LB fame. Movie effectively depicts the very contentious and real TX Gulf Coast shrimping industry tensions and even deaths between Texans and Vietnamese in the late 70s to early mid 80s. Lived in Corpus Christi from 78-94 and remember those days/times well. Went to several Aransas Pass Shrimparee fests as a kid and teenager. Good food, good times and not an environment to act a fool...

The wife was born and raised there, and she has no problem saying it isn't the best place to live. He grandfather was a shrimp boat captain, when he passed, the family gave her a picture of the blockade. Apparently he was one of the boats that participated. She still wants to go back and run for mayor.....
