Any of you came up with your own type of hog drag? Looking for something to hook onto my UTV and drag them off. Something simple that I can just loop over the ball on the hitch.

Laso type loop for the leg(s) and single knot on the ball. About 5 ft long.

I have a 7' chain with a snap link on each end. I make one cut through the back leg between the bone and flexor tendon where it's just hide, slip the chain through it and snap it closed through a link. The other end wraps around the ball and I'm done.

We use a 12’ piece of nylon rope with a 4” loop on one end and a dog leash quick latch on the other end, cut a rear leg and run the rope through and hook it back to itself and simply toss the loop over the ball. I’ve pulled 11 pigs at once using this method.

A simple rope or strap about 4-5' long with a loop ties on each end. On the leg end, just pull the main line through the loop to make a larger loop, and slip that up past the pigs knee. When you start to pull, the heavier the pig, the tighter that loop gets.

I bought a commercial made device called Game Slider. A big, heavy duty plastic mat that you can pull with a vehicle. I only use it if I get a big pig and can’t load it myself. Most of the time, at least one other hunter is out at the lease with me so the 2 of us can lift it onto a cargo carrier in the receiver hitch.

I got a chance to use this for the first time just a few weeks ago. It worked great.

I shot a hog late at night and decided to come back in the morning to drag him to the boneyard because the path back to that area has become so over grown making it difficult to see where you're going. when I looked at the hog the next morning rigor mortis had set in and his mouth didn't want to open easily, so I just looped it around his snout behind his cutters and dragged him behind the Polaris about a half mile or so without any problem.

I made two. Just a 20' nylon rope with hooks on each end. The hooks I used were from old rachet straps. Works great.

I made what I call my piggy puller years ago which consists of a 6' piece of tight link chain with 2" welded rings attached to each end with a quick link. It resembles a large dog chain slip collar. I choke one side down on the hogs leg and the other end to my ball hitch and away we go.

Same here. Easy peasy and no escapes thus far!

I just use an old ratchet strap. One hook over the trailer ball, loop the other end around the hind leg above the joint. I’ve pulled over a hundred of them to the buzzard feed spot with the 4-wheeler that way.

It finally dawned on me a couple of weeks ago to cut a slit in the hocks and I can drag more than one medium-size pig with one chain/rope.

I use twisted or kinked snare cables that have already had pigs in them.
One end on ball hitch, other around hind legs or snout.

I have a couple that I made based on a design that I think DNS posted years ago. To use you just put the loop over a leg or even the neck and pull out the slack. The loop will tighten up as you apply pressure. I have pulled up to three hogs with one drag for a distance of half mile without losing any. I also have never broken the skin with the piece of conduit.
