Hey everyone,
Two buddies and I drew the rifle hunt 12/20-12/22. Any tips or pointers on what not to do, or where not to go would be appreciated. If you want to share where to go, or what to do that's much appreciated as well. Lol We know the pack in/out situation and foot or bikes only situation.
Thanks in advance,
Bill Dean

I’ll be down there for the same hunt but 11/15-11/17. I’ll be happy to share what I learned after my hunt as this will be my first time hunting there.

First Post!
I was on the Rifle hunt this weekend, Just got home exhausted! Everyone in my group was successful. I am happy to provide some tips if anyone wants but the best advice I can give is take a bike and be ready to pack meat in less than ideal locations or dont go. Its a tough hunt how ever you do it and the rattle snakes came to play on our last day so dont forget the snake chaps!
Carry double the amount of water you think you need and add double Slime that you think you need to your bike tires. While everyone else is fixing flats you can be hunting!
I used a Rambo e-bike to hunt off of and pulled our meat out with a bicycle trailer that bolts right to the frame. Its the CADILLAC of bikes for this hunt! FYI my RAMBO is for sale, completely rigged and ready for this hunt. Ill include rifle scabbard and meat trailer for $2K firm, face to face only (located in Kerrville, could meet along my path from SA to DFW for Thanksgiving, can provide gps points to buyer...HA)
The Nilgai can take a big hit and walk it off with no blood trail into places you dont want to go! So leave the varmint rig at home. Think Elk rifle! Hope the next few hunts are as much fun as mine was! James

Everything is so tall you need to be elevated to shoot so the BOG pod was money to make long shots standing! Most our shots were around 200-400yds
