About that time again. What prepackaged chili seasoning do y’all use? I’ve tried Wick Fowler’s 2 alarm and Williams and Carroll Shelby’s. I like Wick Fowler’s the best of those 3. Just got an email from Meat Church, anyone tried their chilli seasoning?

If you've got cumin, paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper and garlic salt you've got the basics to season chili. And can then control the amounts to your taste. Just my 2cents

I've not used a chili mix in a long time. Prefer to use dried ancho and guajillo chili peppers along with other base seasonings. People are usually amazed at the flavor.

I use a combination of Wick Fowlers 2 alarm and 5 Tbs. Mortons Chili blend. 2 pounds chili meat and 1-pound hot breakfast sausage.

the Pendrey's original is fantastic. also, their cumin is so far above anything you can get at a store. They have a storefront in fort worth.

This is the way. I like to toast mine in cast iron on the stovetop and then run them through and old bladed coffee grinder to pulverize it into a fine powder.

Just ordered some Ballow’s. This will be for the Deerlease so I’d rather use prepackaged and not have to take a bunch of extra stuff with me. Thanks guys.

Don't forget the beans! It's not chili unless you have beans in it!

French’s Chili-O has just the right amount of seasoning for me since I can’t tolerate anything spicy anymore. Also use it for pinto bean seasoning.

Adkins texas chili seasoning. Follow directions and use beer in place of water.

Any decent seasoning but you gotta doctor it.
Add whole onion, four cloves of garlic, four chopped jalapeños.

Any seasoning mix will work.

Thanks Mel, I figured being Meat Church it would have to be good. I’ll get his chili seasoning and some Holy Voodoo next week when I drive to Dallas. Nice having that big Buc-ees in Terrell.

I just use Shelby. I do smoke the meat for about an hour or two. I will also add a can or two of chopped chipotle peppers. 🌶️
