All right guys, who sells a battery that'll last more than 1or 2 years. I use to get 4-5 years out of a 12volt on solar panel. Now I'm lucky if I get 2 years. I can tell you that the American Hunter and Wildgame Innovations batteries are junk. All on solar panels and the panels are working properly.
So, who makes a lasting 12volt feeder battery?

Power Sonic. I just replaced a few that were over 7 years old. I did not replace them because they failed. I was just being proactive.

I've used both of those y'all suggested in the past, and as I remember, they worked well. I was trying to save money by buying those cheap one's...didn't work out. Thanks guys

Switched to lithium a year ago, so far so good.

the last several times I've replaced a 12v battery, I've had good luck with the TSC Treeline battery which is 8Ah where most of the others are only 7Ah. with that said, I am only about 1+/- year with the oldest on a solar panel ... can't give any longer review for a while.

Always curious about the 7AH vs the 8 AH. Isn’t the 8 just allow it to run longer without a charge. If so, would that matter if on a solar?

The Power Sonic that I use are only 4.5ah on solar, and they seem to last forever.

Had one of those in 12v. Went dead in a year on a good solar panel. And it won't recharge.

Today I set up and filled the last two feeders. I had new batteries for them. Feeder one battery was flat dead. I expected feeder two to be the same way, since I didn’t fill it and use it last year, but it was almost fully charged. If I had known somebody wanted info on good batteries, I’d have checked the name. It’s the only 12v battery that’s white. Blue top I think.

So, who makes a lasting 12volt feeder battery? Just buy lithium batteries with low temp cut off it just stops charging not the motor I would also upgrade the solar panel to 10w you can get them with a charge controller built in. I bet these lithium batteries will last on a feeder for months buy itself with no charging.

Just food for thought - Solar panels are typically made with a diode or something similar to prevent the battery from discharging through the solar panel at night. Are you 100% sure your solar panels have that feature and that it is working? It is possible for those to malfunction from time to time.
