Are there any wild birds in the area? Been invited to hunt but absentee owner has no idea if there are quail or not. Along the Guadalupe south of Gonzales.

Probably not a huntable population. But you won’t know if you don’t try.

There aren't enough wild birds to get a limit in the entire Gonzales county!

Well good luck, i have a friend who bought a place south of town there, and he never mentioned about any quail around. Feral pigs cut across his property at times, i would pack a weapon incase you' scare up such any? Kill as many as you can! State of Texas will never rid all the pigs we have now in the state! Its going to take a massive desease or bacteria to whip out half the population before we make any head room this population.
Wach for snakes on warm days is out then.... plenty of buzz tails in that area....
