What company would you guys say makes the best AR for $2000 or ideally under that price? Looking for long lasting and reliable. 16” chrome lined barrel in 223 wylde,

Some knowledgeable folks will come along but why would you want a chrome lined barrel? Not needed in a non-battle rifle and will only decrease accuracy.

I would build one first. If not Daniel Defense ddm4 or Wilson Combat is in that price range.

I'd probably get a Geissele, DD, or Wilson. Go ahead and get one with a good trigger

I feel like if I was going to invest 2 grand I’d just build one myself. Get the best parts you can afford on your budget. I’m sure if you buy one something somewhere will not be to your liking.

My Wilson AR in .300 Ham’r is a fine piece of machinery. I’d buy another in a second. Great service as well. My rifle is a lefty, and they did not install an ambi safety at the factory. One call and I had their upgraded ambi safety delivered in three days free of charge.

My Dad and I both shoot Rock Rivers. 6.8 and .308. I can’t imagine finding a better value. They’re great

Daniel Defense all the way. You are only paying for the best gun, and not stylistic machining, frill or name. Don't get me wrong, there are other solid contenders, such as LMT, Noveske, Geissele, and LaRue.

I have custom builds that cost more than a DD, but if SHTF then there is only one rifle that I would definitely grab.

Daniel Defense, Wilson Combat, Rock River Arms, and Springfield.

I have a Springfield Saint Victor AR rifle and I absolutely love it! It is one of the smoothest shooting AR's I have ever owned and very accurate! I put a Timney trigger in it and a nice Holosun sight on it co-witnessed with the iron sights.

Buy a good barrel, BCG and trigger. Put together yourself. Add whatever decoration you desire.

After eating Payne's sausage I don't know if I can go back to the regular store bought stuff.

LaRue definitely needs to be on the list.

They have nothing to offer at the OPs $2K price point.

Ya I missed that requirement. My bad. The others mentioned (minus rock river) are good choices.
