Re the thread about steaks.

I haven’t had a restaurant steak in quite awhile. We make an 80 mile trip from Hurst to the town of Muenster for a meat run at the Fishers Grocery store. They butcher their own beef. It’s top quality and and reasonably priced. We generally bring home an ice chest full along with jellies like cherry butter, etc. Also some pretty good jerky. Some, but not all, of their veggies are locally grown. They tell me that over 50% of their customers are from the D/FW area.

To us, it’s worth the drive.

Ditto.

Plus, their smoked cheese bricks…cheddar and pepperjack!

As the cost of a steak at a good restaurant went up, we gradually stopped going. Now I would prefer to spend my money to buy beef locally from High Lonesome Ranch. They have a little retail storefront on Hwy 175 in Eustace. Yes, I'm cheap but I do like grilling/frying/smoking meat while sipping a beverage and watching the sunset!

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

They do not raise all of their beef , some comes form suppliers but yes it is good and you all need to quit talking about Fischer's on here. It's getting too busy up there !!

Hess Meats is just as good, give them a chance and they will cut to order.

We’ve shopped at Hess but Fishers has more selections of cheese, jellies, etc. I’ve had deer butchered at both.
