I am reloading for 2 25-06s one I have shooting cloverleaf with 120 gr. Speer GS. The other don’t like the Speer or 120 gr. Nosler. I have Sierra and Hornady in 110, 117 and 120s.
Anybody have a pet load for 25-06

I have have been loading the Hornady 117's for mine, specifically the SST's. H4831SC is the powder I am using and about a grain shy of max according to the Hodgdon chart. Hopefully that gives you a good starting point to work up your load.

Barnes 100 gr. Triple Shock over 54.0 gr. Reloader 19.
Gives me 3200 fps. out of my Browning B78 with 5-shot MOA groups.

This one (a Barnes X-Bullet with the same load) entered the rear of the left ham of a 160 lb. buck at about 170 yards and stopped under the skin at the front of the right shoulder. The Triple Shock is the improved version of the X-Bullet with three rings around the shank to reduce fouling. This is the only X-Bullet/Triple Shock I've never recovered. All other kills were broadside shots with complete pass throughs.

That rifle should shoot great. check all your weak points, bedding area, stock screws, scope base and rings, make sure all are torqued to spec. Clean the bore well. make sure the scope isn't broke. If you have done this

Seat to reloading manuals specified OAL unless you want to go down the rabbit hole. Most of the manuals "accurate" data should shoot MOA out of your rifle.

You can do a ladder test if you got a few pounds of powder and a couple hundred bullets. bolt

And check the muzzle crown for irregularities.

A ladder test requires 9 to 12 shots.

Guys thank for the comments. The gun shoots good enough that my Grandson won’t have any trouble killing a deer with it. I just want it to group better. It shoots a 3” circle pretty easy but I am looking for a 1” group.

I've seen out the box brownings do this before. I'd def focus on the gun a little more before load recipes.

There is some mystery to me about the .25-06. The problems you're having seem to be common with the cartridge, no matter what make of rifle it is.

You people talked me into getting some 4831 so we will see what my reloading skills can turn out.

I just started working with an older Ruger #1 .25-06 for the first time. I tried IMR4350 & 4831sc with 100gr Sierra MK. I pick these 2 powders because they are the slowest powders that I have on hand. I'm getting 3 shot touching groups with a medium charge of 4350. The 4831 didn't do as good but at least groups are starting to tighten-up as I'm getting near book max. Gun seems kind of finicky so far but the 5lb trigger is compounding the "is it me or the rifle" problem.

I've owned two different Model 70s in .25-06. One was finicky. One was pretty easy and straightforward---it just seemed to have a preference for certain bullets, not unlike many rifles chambered in lots of other rounds.

The one that was finicky was BOSS equipped. Handloading with BOSS can be a challenge.

I have seen more than one rifle chambered in .25-06 shoot bugholes.

This is the load I worked up a while back for mine, it hangs out around .6-.7” for three shots, its an every day garden variety 700 BDL from the early 90’s.

I don't give recipes online, but I have been shooting and reloading for.25-06 for, um, several years. Don't call me old. Ive had my best results with warm, not hot, loads. Best of luck sir!
