Who is making a comparable tire to the Essex brand? I need some tough run flat tires on a new machine. Any suggestions?

I don’t remember the make up of the Essex but I have had good luck with the Tusk Terrabites.

yeah Essex shut down - there are a couple of other companies making the same Kevlar type tires - just google it - I used Essex for years in South Texas and the never failed me -

My tire guy recommended Wolf Pack. So far so good. Ride's of course rougher, but it's worth it.

I don’t remember the make up of the Essex but I have had good luck with the Tusk Terrabites. I’ve been wondering if these were worth a crap If you stick to gravel roads or hard pack they are fine. They tend to have a rounded or ballooned shape to the tread, so contact patch isn’t much. For mild riding they are fine, not something you’ll ever see on my machine. Something like the Maxxis Carnivore or the Supergrip K9 is a good all around tire. They ride smoother than they look. The Obor Lynx is another great option, as Obor tires in general are a great option.

when my last set of Essex Surefoot failed (mesquite stump thru sidewall), I went to the GPS RP Spartan. They worked well but not near the traction factor. That is likely what I will upgrade to on my current Kubota RTV 1140 when I need tires.

Interesting - I have driven mine in all types of terrain with never a problem with the Essex - only complaint I have is that they went out of business

Spartan 12 ply run flats are contracted by our military for their ATV’s and other off road vehicles.
