Cold turkey this past Sunday. I sure do want to celebrate that with a cigarette.

wp, I didn't know you smoked. Good to hear you are on the road to being smoke free. I quit Thanksgiving day 2007. Almost 17 years ago and don't miss it. I did it with Nicorette gum.

Congrats. Hope you can stick with it.
I quit cold turkey in 2007 after having a dream that I coughed up an entire black lung. I started having the occasional cig again around 2015 but only once or twice a year. I really enjoy smoking when the weather is right but I have to fight the urge.

I quit smoking almost 40 years ago, threw my only pack in the trash, gave away my lighter, still would love to have a Kool every now and then.

81 yoa and I started as a teen. I quit and re started about a dozen times. I counted the days and was proud of myself. That was a mistake because I was obsessing about it. I always went back.

Sometime year or 2 back, don’t know when, I decided to not do it anymore. Still off and never had a withdrawal Urge. I’m done. Now walk a mile a day unless it’s raining or I’m on the road.

I hope it sticks. Not as busy today as most. It makes a difference.

WP, it has to stick. Too many of my high school buddies are gone or are going fast. Can’t see much benefit to not being here.

When we went to sea and got past the 12 mile boundary. Marlboros (Reds) were 25 cents a pack. Zero taxes. Quit smoking 10-15 years ago. Now I (only) dip. Red Seal Longcut Wintergreen. A can lasts about 3 days. Started dipping back in 1980 once I got to my Border Patrol station. Smoking, at night, on the banks of the Rio Grande River is bad for your health.

You can do it sir! I did the same and I’m at 23 days. First 2 weeks my patience was nonexistent, wanted to rip peoples heads off just for saying hello. I’m much better now and I’m on the other side of the cravings.

Hang tough! It'll suck, badly for awhile, but don't BS yourself, saying just one, or a few drags, you can do it.

Happy for you Chris keep it up.
Start a coffee can bank and put the money you would have spent on smokes in there and buy you some nice shooting accessories.

On the dark side smoking has killed a lot of my close family members way too soon.

I quit 15 years ago. I had to quit drinking beer and coffee for 6 months. I started back up on the beer but coffee will never taste the same without a cigarette. The only time I miss a smoke is when I’m driving down the road watching the sun come up. I used to drink at least a pot and smoke a half pack before the sun got up. That’s the best part of a salesman’s day!

Stick with it! If I can quit anyone can.

I saw some guys start when I was in the USAF. When the DI said “Smoke ‘em if you’ve gottem” it became a privilege.
