This will be my first suppressor.
Looking for a .30cal suppressor. Magnum rated - 7mm PRC Rated for a 12” barrel - .308 Will also use on 6.5 Creedmoor and maybe a 6.5 Grendel occasionally.
Size and weight are not super important (unless I ever get to go Elk hunting in Montana…) as it will mostly just be carried from the truck to the bench or hunting blind.
I’m not looking to break the bank but also don’t want something that won’t stand up to some use.
There is a lot of information out there and so many mfg of suppressors these days, it’s hard to keep up or sometimes understand the capabilities/limits of some of these suppressors.
Any information, suggestions, first hand experience, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

A good one will be rated for 300 Win Mag. I’m a fan of titanium and there’s no replacement for displacement as far as sound suppression.

Silencer Co Scythe Ti checks every one of your boxes. The only one to buy. "Not looking to break the bank" Throw away the thought of the price. You are buying something that you can use the rest of your life. There are few items that we can say that about. Buy once, cry once.

Any information, suggestions, first hand experience, etc. would be greatly appreciated. AB Raptor 8 is touch quieter and then Scythe Ti but a little heavier with the reflex. Beauty of the AP raptor is reflex goes back over the barrel allowing more volume for less OAL rifle length. bolt Hunting Suppressor game is simply a Weight to volume game. So the bigger suppressor more volume the quieter it is. Gas gun suppressor game is different as there is a back pressure issue with the traditional but normally quieter suppressor designs. So engineering is more complicated

I shot a 20" 28 Nosler with a Scythe installed. It was hearing safe.

Scythe - will work and be nice for your needs and doesn’t really have restrictions
NOMAD TI - you will need to see if the 12” 308 is a good fit but it carries well and is pretty quiet
Both are nice and light

I shot a 20" 28 Nosler with a Scythe installed. It was hearing safe. You need to shoot the Raptor 8 w/3” reflex, it is quieter, biggest thing is pitch/tone Raptor is more of a thud, scythe is a touch higher pitched also. It’s not overwhelming quieter but touch quieter, i wish the sold separate reflex lengths to play with The Raptor 10 w/4-5” reflex is one of the quietest but it’s a big suppressor. If I was building a dedicated ultralight I go with scythe. For a cheap 30 suppressor the direct thread A10 is only $480, is works well. There is a 6mm and smaller CAN I think I’m going to order Diligent Defense Wolf Hunter, I think I’m going to order for 22 CM

https://precisionrifleblog.com/2024...mit-hard-data-to-compare-250-suppresors/Lots of geeked out reading for you…they tested 250 and I wish it would’ve been 400 because they missed some I would’ve like to have seen in the mix. There are lots of great options and volume is the key to quiet…then you have weight. There are a few in that Scythe range but it’s a pretty dang good suppressor…I have one. The AB Raptor is impressive too. I will say I’ve had more folks ask me about the AB Raptor at the range, because it’s tone, than I have folks ask about the Scythe. I have a Diligent sTi coming any day to compare…its price point is good. Good luck…lots of fun to be had, I don’t like shooting without them at this point.

I didn't find another suppressor that was that short, light, and 300 RUM rated. If it's a hunting rifle, I want short and light. If it's a shooting rifle, I don't care as much about that, and I want very quiet. My Tiger Shark is extremely quiet. But it's 10" long and 26 ounces. A bear to carry while hunting with it.

Yes right @ 8 oz and 6”. w/out reflex. If you use the reflex, it adds 2-3oz and 1-3 inches back toward the rifle Judd’s been shooting it right next to his scythe. Raptor 4-10

You should think of your suppressor as an investment. Once you buy it and get ATF approval then its yours for life. There is no simple trading out of a suppressor for something else. Getting divorced is easier to do and takes less time so don't go cheap. Save and . spend the money up-front and have no regrets for the next +20 years.
Periodically, someone will publish the equipment list of competitors at major matches. There are two brands of suppressors that dominate PRS and other competitions, Thunderbeast and DeadAir. You might do a Google and see what it you find.

I got the silencer co Chimera it’s is rated for everything you asked for. It’s a bit heavy, price was 950, it’s an ASR QD mount, hearing safe with everything from a 223 up to a 300 win mag.

There are constantly new suppressors coming out. Even if you buy the new hotness, it will be old news in a year or two as the next new hotness comes out. I would just recommend buying from a bigger name in the suppressor industry so the company will be around several years from now and I would recommend going titanium for weight savings.
Like others have said you are basically getting married to this gun muffler. I married a Q Trash Panda about 5 years ago. She still treats me right.

Think I’m gonna go Tuesday and buy a Scythe and do the ATF paperwork. I like the size and weight and the titanium colors should look good with the carbon fiber barrel of 7PRC.
Thank you everyone!

Get with Hunter Steve and have him make you a suppressor cover. He does an excellent job. And makes them in Plano, TX.
Those are not for Tacticool. Those are to keep suppressor mirage from happening. On your third shot, you will see the heat of the suppressor in your scope image. Your target will be dancing around. The suppressor cover prevents that.
