If you have a started dog that you would like to get some more experience, I can hunt him 3-4 times a week on wild south Texas birds. For more information you can reach me at stxquailhunting@gmail.com

Good luck with this, the folks I know with dogs wouldn't let them go without themselves going as well.
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Sounds like a great training opportunity if you don’t have access to a place with wild birds.

I sent my Vizla Dash to Montana without me once. He was hunted on wild birds with other dogs and almost every day for a month. I knew and trusted the guys I sent him with, but it would hard for me to allow it with a stranger or if the dog would be hunted with other people I don't know. I believe that kind of experience for a young dog is priceless with the right set of circumstances. If you can't get them out there yourself for some reason.

I let a buddy of mine run two of my finished dogs last season in south Texas with his 8. He’s retired and I don’t have time for the drive. I have a new pup this year but I’m hoping to have the bird up here to finish her off.
One question. If I were to send a started pup for you to run in your guide string would you replace her if she were hurt or killed?

In 13 years of guiding I have been fortunate to not have run over any dogs or had any shot. If either of those were to happen I imagine I would pay you what the dog was worth. I wouldn't try to replace it with another dog. Rattlesnake bites, dog gets run over by a cow, or God just takes a general disliking to your dog and it gets struck by lightning, you may cuss me but things happen sometimes when dogs aren't in the kennel getting fat.
