Ruger SBH Bisley in .480 Ruger.
5 shot cylinder.
No big bears or Cape Buffalo in this vicinity, but lots of fun with mid-level hand loads!

Any single action fans here in the neighborhood?

Are those micarta grips? If so, who made them?

Linen micarta. Got them from Ronnie Wells in Houston. I did the fitting, which was a learning experience. Thought about polishing them out - but decided against it.

LOVE THEM !!! Bought this on a whim, sold it to a member here. Bad wrist and I can't focus the front sights anymore. There is a Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter in the classifieds now. I love those too.

Very true. The man was a legend - for good reason.

Had a FA 83 in 454 a few years back. Realized that a handgun that lightweight, coupled with that violent of a cartridge, really wasn’t that fun to shoot. I’m not recoil shy (especially in rifles) but I never could settle in with that gun. Ended up swapping for a scoped SBH Hunter .44 mag plus some cash and really don’t miss it.

50 yard group with the SBH.

That is a beauty. I had the 6.5 inch 454 version. It was a handful. Ended up selling it and getting a Taurus Raging Hunter in 460 S&W. Between the bigger grip, extra weight, and brake it is fun to shoot. I still have a soft spot for the single actions though, and the 480 is a great cartridge.

Single action fan but never had any big bores. No fan of the Bisley grip but I have a .357 Blackhawk I modified to keep the regular grip frame but with a Bisley hammer. I have an Old Model Single Six and a brand new Wrangler project ... but no boomers. Had a .454 R92 but no pistols. Had a Uberti Cimarron Evil Roy factory custom in .45 Colt, sold it.

Pass the gravy.

For me it's a Ruger Super Red Hawk in Ruger .480 with Packmayer grips.

Where are you guys buying reloading bullets, I'm having a hard time finding some.

Looks like a thumper!

For cast bullet supply:
This gentleman here, supplied me with a custom cast QTY #500 order of LBT 400WFN / .477" (for the .480 SBH) a couple of years ago. I've bought from him before in the past (.44 SPL & .45 Colt), and he's always been reliable. Reasonable cost, & super fast order turn around time. Family business.

https://bullshop.weebly.com/

Matts Bullets, & Montana Bulletworks are also reputed to be good sources for quality.

I'd also recommend GT Bullets for a quality bullet (no .480 though), at reasonable cost. Only down side is a long ship time. That said, worth the wait. Check 'em out if you've got the time!

Aside from the above - and you guys are probably aware, before ordering from anyone, make sure that they offer CB's sized correctly for your cylinder throats.

There sure are a lot of fine shootin' irons represented here!

Mine's a Hamilton Bowen built five-shooter in .45 Colt. French walnut stocks by the late, great Roy Fishpaw himself.

Hers one of my big bore pistols, but not a SA Bisley, but it is my favorite. S&W 460XVR. It shoots a custom 315 SWC at 2100fps. It’s a pleasure to shoot. As you can see the wife even enjoys it

Someone posted a double action.

LOL

Can't tolerate the looks or feel of a Bisley Ruger but the hammers are cool hence the swap I made to my plow handle.

Pass the gravy.
