I have. ‘22 high country with the 6.2. Engine locked up at 25,000 miles. New engine and haven’t had a problem since. I have 49,000 on it now. Pulls great and fun to drive. Mileage was better with original motor but that was with factory tires on it. Pulled my ranger to South Dakota this summer and got 14mpg with zero issues. I think every engine has a problem here and there if you research it enough.

Mileage was better with original motor but that was with factory tires on it. Pulled my ranger to South Dakota this summer and got 14mpg with zero issues. I think every engine has a problem here and there if you research it enough. This is exactly the main bearing problem I specifically mentioned concerning the 2022 6.2L (and a 5.3L once and a while but mostly 6.2L). I have seen mid 40MPG on road trips... The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 trim level with the 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel engine has a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds. The 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel engine comes standard on the AT4 trim level and has 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. Please call Guinness if you're getting 40 MPG unless you just mean seeing on the instant display. You have to pay extra for option NHT to get those towing numbers and it is only available with the 3.0L. Besides that, the 6.2L gas has MORE trailer capacity at every other cab/gear/2 or 4 wheel drive configuration. The 6.2L gas engine has more HP and very close to the same TQ at 420 HP amd 470 TQ. Haven’t trusted gm’s v8’s since they added the dang cylinder deactivation. That was the late part of 2006 when the 2007 was being introduced. That's pretty hilarious really since all makes used some kind of the same voodoo due to the EPA. Don’t forget you have to use premium unleaded in that larger v8 Untrue. 91 is recommended but not required. I’m not sure they do that anymore, at least they don’t on the 6.2 liter. It’s a good engine The 2007-2018 generation of LT engines did not have Active Fuel Management (AFM) on the 6.2L. AFM kills cylinder 1,7,4,6 when "desired" for better fuel economy. Those engines were either 4 or 8 cylinders. The newer generation has DFM, or Dynamic Fuel Management where it can run on any combination of one to eight cylinders at any time based on inputs. The 6.2 in the newer trucks does in fact have DFM. The mileage isn’t great for sure. I’m starting to see more 16-17 mpg trips on the highway though. That's all perspective. My 2007 with AFM and a tune (yes, I kept AFM) gets single digits on average due to all the idle time. 16-17 is pretty good. And gas is cheaper than diesel, there is no fuel filter to change (the 3.0L guys need to be changing theirs every other oil change), the oil changes cost about the same because the 6.2L holds 8.5 quarts, and the DEF cost needs added to the cost of fueling. The savings is minimal with the diesel until it's time to trade. If you plan on putting more than 100K on one be ready to take a bath at trade time. Trade early and you might get more than a 6.2L brings. Now here is another 3.0L front cover leak. The last one I posted was a rear cover leak. Second pic shows turbo side. The back 1/3 is under the cowl/dash when the cab is on. Look at the clearance (lack there of) between the engine and the cooling stack. There is none. Last pic shows the injection pump and nine miles of coolant hoses. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/S06GhmF/IMG-9725.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/7QXY6zW/IMG-9722.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/dtPNBfM/IMG-9724.jpg)

None of the HD gas trucks except ram and maybe now gm did. The ford 5.0 and all ecoboosts, Toyota, Nissan all didn’t. If you’re saying no issues with gm’s cylinder cut out bs your head is way down in the sand.

Finally got home from big D. If anyone is looking for a GMC in the Dallas area I worked with a young man at Sewell GMC Karson Wheatman. He made things smooth, and easy, with zero games. If anyone is in the market give him a shot. He offered to pick me up from the airport without me asking. Great service from the young Baylor bear.

So I ordered a complete engine wiring harness for a 3.0L baby D-Max today. Guess I'll post pics of it with the cab off to change the harness on a 22K mile truck our F*** store just sold used to a new customer. It's already had an injector, a glow plug, and a reductant injector replaced (elsewhere) before it was traded in for us to sell. Original owner likely got tired of it.
Across the way from my bays will be a 3.0L baby D-Max with the cab off for an oil leak. No, not the same one as I just posted.
Pics as they get taken...
Pass the gravy.

Here's the next oil leaker. You can see the wet belt and the infamous timing chain. I'll have the body off my wiring harness job next week when the part comes in. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/mXcN9p8/IMG-9787.jpg)

Genius engineer, use chain on most of the timing assembly. Then one part a rubber belt.

If GM can find a better solution and get this oil leak situation down, they’ll have one of the greatest engines ever designed. I’m getting 26mpg to 29mpg consistently, in a 4wd that pulls medium sized loads. I’ve owned around 10 trucks now and I believe this is my favorite to date.
