I'm eligible for a VA dental plan at about $40.00 per month, but wanted to see other options.
Thanks,

I've had these crooked broke teeth my whole life and when the dentist started talking about needing work on 2 teeth @ about $2500 each I told her no thanks and if they got to hurting I was just going to go to Affordable Dentures and get em all pulled and buy some pretty store bought teeth. Been almost 4 years now and haven't had a single problem. Just caint see paying to save what's left. Had her pull all my wisdom teeth, capped a molar and pulled one other molar. I'm done. Next stop is Gabby Hays land, LOL.

The wife and I self pay as our dentist (and others we have called) don't accept aftermarket dental insurance. Thankfully I get reimbursed from my retirement HRA.
TRS is offering dental insurance starting this year and I will be checking it out with our dentist this week to see if they accept it. I wish there were better options.

I looked at dental insurance a few years ago and the annual limit of what they would pay vs the premiums caused me to pass.

I just pay the dentist and save the premiums.

Because my teeth are not in as good shape as the wife's, I have separate dental insurance through Allstate.

I have Delta Dental through my company. Over the years the cost of the policy has exceeded the claims payed by quite a bit. But, when you consider that it is a business expense to the company, it all works out

My mom goes to NucleoDental in Juarez...heck of a lot cheaper than here in the states and has a huge clientele from here. You can even get a huge discount on one of the local hotels and it's actually quite nice. Mom says it's one of the cleanest dental clinics she's ever been to. Family friend had all her bottom teeth replaced there about 8 years ago and has had no issues.

Care credit is a company who has an interest free for a time period. They focus on medical procedures where a little financial help is needed.

Correct

I even tried like Blue Cross and Blue Shield top of line Dental insurance I was paying like $80 per month, and I think annual limits is like $1000. Best is to just not get it and pay out of pocket as you go.

My Delta was 2000! I had 7 teeth pulled by oral surgeon and it cost me about $1800 out of pocket plus the 2000 insurance, then remaining cleaned, another $1200. Still no upper molars to eat with and that will be about another $1500 plus! This is providing the bone decay in my head stops so a partial plate or implants can be installed. Guess who is having soft foods for rest of year and holidays!?
