They are closing out ALL Sitka items, great prices.
Apparently, they had a fight and Europtics told them to "shove it". They will be buying NO MORE Sitka Gear.

I’ve got Remington jackets from the 1980’s that are warmer than anything Sitka makes. I’m done with the overpriced camo that “Packable” is its only improvement over clothing made 40 years ago.

I agree, seems like high roller gear to me. I don't hunt like Bobo, so I don't really need high tech gear. I'm still rocking my 12 year old Columbia Quad parka and bibs for cold weather.

The Jetstream jacket is a game changer. It's light and it is WAY warmer than the bulkyness...buy you a Jetstream jacket at minimum, it will change your life.
Which reminds me, I have a Kuiu Axis hybrid jacket I need to list because I don't wear it after getting the Jetstream.

I don't own any Sitka but I had to go to basspro saturday and they had a fleece jacket that made me think "damn, this is nice!"
My beef with fleece is the wind zips right thru it, but this is supposedly windproof.
After wearing the high tech stuff for the last several years, Its hard to go back to the bulky, run of the mill clothing. I've got a nice Cabela's jacket I bought about 10 years ago but now it feels like i'm wearing a comforter when I put it on
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Many of you can get on their pro staff program (I believe first responders/military, and others). You get a permanent 40% off and often stack with an additional 10-15% when they're running specials. https://www.sitkagear.com/pro-program

I’m pretty low tech. My favorite is an old Cabela’s Outfitter camo hoodie.

Cabelas house brand for me camo, warm, dry, wind proof and quite. What more could you as for. Just bought a new pair of heavier bibs for $119.00 instead of Kuiu, First Lite, Sitka for $500.00. The deer don't know the difference.

I’ve never had Sitka but have quite a few Kuiu things I really like and I don’t even hunt anymore. For camping, especially motocamping, and motorcycle riding in the fall and winter it’s some awesome stuff. Being lightweight and packable while still being warm is important to me and worth every penny.

It’s worth the $. I lay in the dirt and brush prone, sit with my back against trees, etc. The pants should be the second piece anyone gets after the jet stream jacket, then the Kelvin Lite hooded jacket and you’re good in anything we have in Texas. Very cold and windy where I hunt and I can stay out all day in anything the panhandle has thrown at me.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Buzz I have both solid and camo and I would say buy one of each if I had your money. It’s a jacket that is just right from 30-60 degrees. It cuts wind like magic and has the capability to vent the pits. If I was to get camo I would go with the elevated 2 or the new cover that I haven’t seen in a Jetstream yet. ( I will get a cover when I see it release) Solids go with what you like and will look pimping in Frisco in.

Oneshot gear had a similar on line response. I do understand the ones that got orders cancelled because it’s a year in advance sales cycle and they could have allocated more open to buy to other product lines. Sitka went direct to consumer, they were paying out too much in margin support on unsold items, since they are so big on MAP. You can’t compete against the kuiu’s and first lite when you are paying money out the back end. For the record I hunt in Columbia also, I will bet that no one on this forum has more Columbia clothing, footwear, hats, packs etc than I do, unless you have a retail front selling it, and even than I’m sure my house hold will win
Bottom line, never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals.-Sen Joni Ernst

Whatever pattern they call this, it's not on the tag. The pattern is perfect for my area. I have three pieces of it. The pants are "Mountain" pants style. Every time I wear this stuff I find a new pocket.

It seems relevant to me. I personally think camo has become a fashion statement. I do understand that high tech premium gear is worth it for specific hunting situations. Most of us are just playing dress up.

Most of us are just playing dress up. It's not relevant unless someone talks about carhartt. Don't take offense to this because it's not meant that way (I was where you are, years ago and someone had to show me the light too...thanks Bobo...sort of you bassturd...it's cost me a bunch of money) you think it's a fashion statement because that is how you want to see it. I'm here right now, telling you...there is a difference between a Jetstream jacket and the pos you are currently wearing. It cost 4x because it's worth 4x more. After wearing the high tech stuff for the last several years, Its hard to go back to the bulky, run of the mill clothing. I've got a nice Cabela's jacket I bought about 10 years ago but now it feels like i'm wearing a comforter when I put it on He told you exactly why it's better..."wearing a comforter"....nailed it. For the record, I have a Sitka pair of pants but I actually prefer the Kuiu pants over the Sitka...so while you wish it was a fashion statement, I'm miss matched like a mofo and don't care because it's comfortable.

Most of us are just playing dress up. Oh I agree, been that way since real tree first came out. I remember back when I was a kid if you didn’t have the newest pattern, you were not cool. Guys had hunting camo and then going out camo. I prefer solid colors myself. I’m not as hung up on the pattern as the material. Two of my favorite items are an old pair of cotton Magellan cargo pants ( in real tree) and an old redhead 1856 fleece jacket ( I actually love the jacket and wear it 95% of the time when I’m bowhunting ). But I’m not wearing either on an actual hunting trip or when it’s buttarse cold outside, or when it’s wet. I can gear up in Kuiu, first lite and Kennetrek boots and haven’t found a situation where I havent been reasonably comfortable yet.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.
