Had a good set last night five traps 5 corn bandits!
Last year I trapped 51 and their just starting to show back up, but I'll keep them in check.
A $.99 bag of Walmart mini marshmallows you can catch a truck load.

I’ve learned to space those traps out. I’ve caught them double fisting before…each hand in a trap.

Nice work!

I wish those were tasty so the meat didn't have to go to waste.

I put them in the pasture and the buzzards are on them within the hour, nothing wasted.

Well done. cheers A buzzard will give up his life to stay on one of those on the blacktop.

My attitude on the raccoons has softened. I've decided I like them cleaning up the corn so deer don't get in the habit of feeding in the middle of the night.

Kick Azz, kill em all up

Pulled my game cam this morning and I have 6 of them bastages in the pen.

Problem is if I set the Dukes traps I will not go back for another week to check them, forget the humane part of it, by that time they are nasty, nasty, nasty to deal with.

Any other way to deal with them?

Why are you using marshmallows, when they are coming for corn?

Fly bait and big red, but of course I'd never do that b/c it's illegal.

Like you, we've trapped about 50 or more in the last year. I recently rebaited all the traps and got 7-8 more. This fam showed up this morning, I'll rebait next week and see if I can't get some more.

Have you caught any skunks in the marshmallow baited traps? Unfortunately skunks are attached to corn and cat food bait that i’ve been using.

Using cat food I've caught coons, skunks and a fox. I'll give them a try.

They are pretty tasty cooked in a crock pot with barbeque sauce. Add potatoes, carrots, celery, etc to make it a meal.

I don't think them eating the corn is as much of a problem as is their destructive habits towards feeders and the real reason for controlling them. You can encourage daytime deer feeding with your throw times.

They're hell on turkey nests, and all of us spinning corn are creating a massive artificial calorie source they wouldn't otherwise have. Their proliferation as a result causes a major imbalance in the food chain. If you aren't trapping/shooting, you're not being a very good steward. I shouldn't be able to trap 50+ coons a year and still see so many on camera.

My $.02.

Why are coons not easy targets for coyotes?

If you have seen a big boar coon and a couple of hounds fighting you would know why. A big coon is mighty tough!
