Anyone have one of been up in one? I’ve been wanting an ultralight for well over 30 years…. I believe the parachute version is safer than the hang glider version with the ridigid frame. Just started looking into them again. Gave up on motorcycles about 5 years ago because of a couple of close calls from idiots on their phones.

If anyone has any experience or insight on ultra lights ofr powered parachutes let me know. Need a two-seater…

I saw a video of a guy who uses one to commute to work. Not for me, but it was cool to watch him.

We used to have an ultra light airport near us. I've sat and listened to those "engines" putting along up there. My mowers run better.

No thank you.

Isn’t this one of the few activities that makes a life insurance policy not payable? I figured you would know.

A fella near Floresville used to fly around in one of them things. He got all balled up in some power lines and gave up the ghost.

I can see someone doing that off of the Pecos high bridge on 90, or the railroad bridge a little further upriver.

i keep up with this stuff too. i would not have one. a gust of air at the right spot can fold that airfoil like a piece of tissue paper. just go ahead and get a fixed wing ultralite, good priced used ones can be found

I almost had an opportunity to bid on one at an auction. Too bad I had a funeral I had to attend. I bet it went cheap.

I've got one that I used to fly but don't anymore. PM me and I'd be happy to give you the benefit of my experience. If I wasn't so old I'd still be flying it. They are fun to fly and the reason I got it was because it is a relatively safe way to fly. Just understand it is a toy. It would be great for doing game surveys. Call me Snake, I'll give you the straight chit on them.

My brother-in-law almost drowned in 3ft of water when a wind-shift sent him spiraling down landing upside down in the river tangled up in the lines. He woulda been gone by the time we made it to him but he barely managed to untangle from the lines holding him upside down.
