I didn’t notice any thread that noted this, so here is some logical and great news.

P&Y is now allowing battery operated illuminated sights for official scoring.

I have used Tru-Glow fiber optic sights since conception. Just picked up a CBE last season at the end of Oct. to smoke a doe (never materialized) because light conditions were getting limited later in the year, and because I missed one (getting old I guess). Also shot high on my buck on Friday the 13th. It went in, and buried in the opposite shoulder blade; knock it over instantly. I flung two more to make sure before he got up. Practice, practice, practice.

I was correct in thinking there was in the past thought 65 but wasn't sure until I read the link. That is from several years back and might have changed since then,

I would in be in favor of a separate category for trad equipment.

Mel Johnson killed his buck with a recurve. When P&Y was founded compound bows had not been invented yet.

Maybe do something like an overall record and one with trad equipment, like IGFA does with all tackle and line class records.

Back to topic….i just thought the let off rule was a silly one

Really, wgas? I personally look at the score a standard in comparison but don't define trophy status by inches alone. And any animal I get that would meet those standards wouldn't go through the process to enter anyhow because it's irrelevant to the place it holds in my personal "record" category.
