Headed there Saturday. They now have their "blue hair special" offered every night before 6:00. Choice of entree, salad or soup and one side. $36 and change. Great deal if you don't slop down 3 scotches before you order.

I'll give report Saturday night.

Thanks for the PSA, I like eating early. But I don't "slop." grin

Ruth’s Chris does a HH special as well. Beef tenderloin sandwich is like 15$. Pretty good deal and drinks are discounted.

Wife and I are headed to Myron’s in NB tomorrow night for anniversary. It’ll be good, but certainly won’t be $36. Last couple time we were there my 2 double bourbon on the rocks were $50 a piece.

We tried Perry’s Friday, it was not bad. I was really looking forward to the pork chop and was a little disappointed. It was fairly good, but over cooked and lukewarm.

My porkchop was wonderful, still eating on it. The side were all really great, had a couple Blue Moons with fruit salad. Desert was an orange creamsicle cheesecake. Yes, I had a small taste. The Wedge was the best I've had in a while, tons of blue cheese chunks and a great dressing. This Munjaro works so well, I couldn't eat but just a little bit of everything.

Before we retired and were still living in the Houston area, we'd visit Perry's multiple times a year and can't remember getting a bad meal there.

Yeah, the porkchop is a handful...we'd get at least a second meal from it every time. The tempura lobster appetizer is a winner as well.

And I always kept myself to TWO scotches...all things in moderation, right? roflmao

When you are used to Riley's Tavern, that has to be a big shock.

Heck Hud, I could buy 2 bottles of my favorite bourbon for the price of those 2 doubles Myron’s.

Got that right, but it is about as "far off" from Perry's or Myron's as you one can get.

You've got that right. Wife and I were there on our second date when a drunk accidently spill a beer on her. As I was trying to control my temper she looks at me and said "My kind of place". That was 25 years ago and she still comments on it when we pass the place.

Is Perry's Friday lunch Pork Chop special worth $19.00?
( Enjoy a lunch-cut portion of Perry’s Famous Pork Chop, served with whipped potatoes and homemade applesauce and bread, for only $19.)

I think it was, but it’s not “exceptional “. Although, I think my expectations were pretty high with all the praise about the chop. Mine was sorta lukewarm and a little dry (like most thick pork chops). It is quite a bit of food.
