Does any one use a form in there stands to capture what was seen in any particular blind? I was thinking about creating one and thought maybe others had done this already and what data should really be captured. I have seen them used on big corporate leases just never really heard about it being utilized on private leases?
Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.

On some of the corporate hunts that I've been on at the King Ranch and places like that they have used them
Usually ask you to write..
1) What you saw 2) How many 3) The time the came out
Kind of cool when you sit in the blind to have a general idea of what type of game to expect.

We do that at our lease in San Saba. We don't have a form though, just a small spiral notepad with a pencil stuck in it, in each stand. We just note how many bucks/does, at what time, and from what direction they came.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Ok I made up with a spread sheet format: all in individual colums Stand #, Date, time am/pm weather, temp, feeder times "should go off" actual times they did. What you saw, pts and age estimate Well see what the other guys think on the lease.

I keep a spiral notebook and try to write down everything that comes in, what time and what direction. I also write down what times the feeders(four) go off. Time I get to stand ,temperature, wind direction, rain or cloudy or sunny. Usually I don't have time to write all of this when it is happening but i take notes until I have time to write it all down.

I feel like a nerd for posting this, but last year I created a spreadsheet for my property.
Stand Date Time in/out Saw Conditions MOON Phase (keep track of when you consistently see rutting bucks and this gets really interesting)
I enjoyed the heck out of it and found that I would reference that spreadsheet when selecting stands. I felt like it was a big help, and especially when comparing one year to another, when you've long since forgotten those details.

don't forget fawn counts. We do mature bucks, bucks, spikes, does, and fawns. This is a very effective way to determine fawn survival rates. Do three counts per month during october and september from each stand.

It's very helpful if your land has more than just white tail...you never know what exotics might have been there
