Anyone have an opinion on what’s better? Install time is no concern as we have time before moving in. Those of you that have your floor coated, any regrets?

We are going to get our garage floor coated and trying to decide if it’s worth spending the extra for polyurea as the base coat vs epoxy. Either option would have full flake and polyaspartic top coat, so the only difference is the base and about a $700 difference. I’ve gotten quotes around $1800 for 2 car epoxy and $2550 for polyurea.

What do they do about concrete cracks before hand? Does either coating hide the cracks by itself

Four years ago I had the polyurea product applied to my garage floor. Contractor filled in all cracks prior to application. It's held up very well, no issues or regrets. With any coating it's all in the prep work.

Coming back to update. I ended up going with the epoxy base with polyaspartic top coat. Came out really good. I ended up getting the epoxy for around $1500 by a local guy. Came out really good

I’ll do my best to remember to update. This guy came highly recommended by others in the area, some said they had work done 3 years ago and it still looks new. I work on a lot of stuff in the garage so I’ll put it to the test

Looks nice. I had 2 porches and 2 garages done last year with epoxy.

So far so good.

What was the square footage in that job? I’m looking at having my shop done.

I did mine in epoxy myself 5 years ago this past July. Overall its held up pretty well, about 6 months ago I did notice some hot tire pick up happening where my wife parks her car. Other than that, Its held up great

Around 370, it was priced at $4/sqft before tax. Most of the other companies I had quotes from were anywhere from $5-7/sqft
