Schedule is out for the 4014 steam engine coming to Texas. Go see it if you get the chance, smaller towns will allow closer access to the train. https://www.up.com/heritage/steam/schedule/index.htm ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/08/full-61217-427998-img_4292_copy.jpg)

If it takes the southern route again it might roll right through where I live. I can see the tracks of the main line from my house. And for those who might not be familiar with them, those lines in the fields in the background are snow fences.

It looks like it comes in on the line from the NE of Dallas and then going back goes through Ft Worth and up to Denton.
There will be lots of idiots pacing the train as they say, diving along side of it on the highway. It is a pain and yes lots of train enthusiasts that will try to tell you everything wrong you are doing to get a good close look.

We were coming back from Galveston in 2021 and seen a lot of people by the train tracks. Found out they were waiting on Big Boy. I have a hay pasture between Bremond and Calvert right on the tracks. We got a great view of Big Boy and plan on being prepared this time should be able to get some great drone pics.
