I'm not tough. In Jr High, guy on the bus had a 357 Python, showed it to me, than hancuffed me to the bench seat. Finally got him to let me lose for class. Ended up behind him in the bus line after school. Don't remember what he said but a jab to the jaw dropped him like a rock. Teachers came running, nothing happened. Never saw him on the bus again. He probably had 20# over my 100#s. Dropped the rack on a guy in the service, he did't want to get up. Came out swinging, got me in the mouth - wrestled him against the locker and he gave up. No Mast so he got off lucky. Deck M.A said use a trash can lid next time.

I have been beat up. I don’t normally like to tell those stories, but here is a good one. I used to hang out at Addison City Limits back in the day. That’s a bar with a small boxing ring for lady’s night. It was mid-2000’s timeframe. If i remember right they had a $20 cover and of course lady’s got in free. If you signed a waiver to fight, they waived the cover charge.
When you have a challenger, you guys decide between boxing, kickboxing, wrestling/jiu jitsu, or MMA and duke it out. Well, I never really had any real challenge fighting up there, until this one night. A short little black dude, you could tell he was pretty fit and strong for his size but still so much smaller than me and short reach. He asked me to box him, and i completely underestimated him. And it was a baptism in humility that lasted less than 30 seconds, lol. Holy shmokes. We had Dallas City Limits in the 80's, Off Northwest Highway in Dallas, it's now a topless bar called the Lodge. They had mug night on Thursday, You buy the mug for $5 and you got free beer all night long Drinking age was like 19 back then, and I don't think they had DWI back then either, if you were drunk cops would make you pour out your beer.

A old buddy of mine told about the time he was in a bar, juicin up when a short sort of fellow passed behind his chair and accidentally bumped him a little. He sizes this guy up and berates him. The fellow apologized but Nolan was having none of that. The guy tried to bow out but my friend got bold and told him he would box his ears. Nolan said the next thing he knew, that little fellow had hit him about ten times. Nolan had to beg him to stop, please.
Of course it turned out the guy was Golden Gloves Champ of Louisiana.

Another good fight story also associated with church. That same girlfriend, the one who i could tell she lusted for the wannabee BAMF that i beat up, she really resented me for beating him up by the way. Anyway, her ex boyfriend used to call her and try to get back together with her rather frequently. At first it never bothered me much, for my confidence was strong. But she started calling me afterwards to tell me and complain, and she acted like she wanted me to stop it. Welp it began to wear on me, and I called him and told him it needed to stop or he was gonna get beat up but he persisted. Yep we were all friends at some point.
Anyway one day after she complained to me about it i decided to go give him a beating. Well i could not find him. He had a good friend, whose big brother was the local dope dealer at Happy Crappy in Rockwall. I guess he thought he would be safe from me there. Nope.
I kicked in the door and ran in there and strangled him. Literally lifted him by the throat with both hands digging my thumbs deep into his throat. This was before I learned BJJ and thank God, or I would have probably picked an arm and permanently disabled him, and that would have ruined my life. Anyway, he wept and peed in his pants, and the display was so pathetic i let him go.
On my way out the older brother/dope man followed me out and said something along the lines of i will get shot next time, and i turned and started towards him and he ran in and shut the door.
You know the funny thing is i never thought of myself as a badass or a trouble maker back then, and in fact thought i was a fine up-stander of sorts. Now looking back i was a pretty reckless sob and with a short temper.
Girlfriend broke up with me for doing that to her ex after all that 🤣

I am grateful for the numerous beatings that it took to humble me, and am grateful I was never seriously injured or killed, nor went to prison.

Talkers were seldom an issue. Some of them quieter types could be tough to deal with. If I could hear a quiet guy breathing, something was going to be accounted for.

Here is one from high school. Not a long one but a good one. I got in a fistfight with a buddy in the locker room after football practice one day, and we got caught by a coach the guys called “Poppy”. Coach Poppy Mays ❤️
Coach Mays made us run 5 miles a day holding hands after practice for 5 days. I never got in another fight with a team mate, except the day I made it to Varsity. That was not really a fight, I got beat up by most of the team. That was tradition.

"Best Fistfight Story"
I have been in my fair share of fights and have seen many others. But just sticking with the topics question. "Best pure fist fight" I have ever seen was in Jr. high, two tall lanky 9th graders were pounding each other toe to toe for what seemed like 5 minutes, both bloody as hell! Looked like Thomas Hit Man Hearns vs. Marvin Hagler tearing it up.
Most street fights are over pretty quick, duking it out for more than 2 or 3 minutes is exhausting as hell, especially if you have been drinking.

I’ve been in a few, some when I was just a boy, 2 in high school and 1 in college, nothing too crazy. I am a big, strong, athletic guy but very mild temperament in most situations. It takes A LOT to rile me up but when I flip the switch I don’t eff around.
One story I always think about when it comes to fighting was when I was young, maybe only 10-11. It was after school and I got into it with two boys right out in front of the school and for just being kids we were actually scraping pretty good. I bloodied both their noses and didn’t take much damage.
I looked up and saw my dad just sitting in his truck watching. I grabbed my bag and headed over there with a lot going through my mind. “Why did he not get out?” “Was he going to be mad?” “Was I about to get a whoopin?” I opened the door and got in, he just kinda looked at me with a half smirk and we went home like nothing happened, lol
My dad was a big time scraper, his friends used to tell me how he could handle himself in a fight back in his day.

I’m an old man now. But I’ve been in some great ones. I can honestly say I was in at least 100 before I got out of JR high in Odessa.
My best fight story was when I was 28 when I stopped off in a bar in Oxford Mississippi after leaving a gas plant in Batesville. I pulled into a bar in Oxford to buy a beer. A big old boy didn’t like my Texas plates. I thought he was joking when he started in on me. This guy had 50lbs on me and I’m not small. I was half way scared when he started threatening me. It ended up with me poking him with a pool cue followed by 50 forearms and an ambulance.
Which JR high? I went to Crocket last year they went undefeated in football, graduated HS in 81. I’m an old man now. But I’ve been in some great ones. I can honestly say I was in at least 100 before I got out of JR high in Odessa.

Bill Herron was the principal. I saw a Mex pull a knife on him one afternoon and Herron broke his shoulder. The old man played pro ball both ways. He was in his late 60’s at the time. I also drank my first beer after helping him drag a mule deer out of a canyon. The best thing about him is if we were caught fighting he’d ask me who started it. I’d always answer, “ The Mexicans.” He’d tell us to go back to class!

In junior high if the FB coach caught you fighting he would take both perps to the gem, put boxing gloves on you and let you go at it. When one person was down for the count the winner would get expelled. The other guy just got an arse whooping.

The first day of football practice in 7th grade I got into a fight with another asshle. The coach made us run around the fence and we became good friends and still are.

I got in a fight in a Freshman football game. Like a dumbass I tried to hit the guy in the face while he had his helmet on. I got everything thru his face ask except the knuckle on my little finger. When I was in the emergency room getting my broken hand set the Dr. asked me how I did that. I said you see that guy over there with the broken nose? Well that is how I did that. He just shook his head and said you boys will never learn.

I had A neighbor kid growing up around 4th grade. We were friends but fought a lot. His older brother started jumping in. They whipped the chit out of me for a couple of weeks. My old man told me if he was getting beat up like that he’d cut a limb off the mulberry tree to even things up.
I cut a limb off about the size of my arm. A few days later I was in the back yard with the neighbor girls and the brothers started throwing dirt clods at us on top of the cynderblock fence. I kneecapped both of them off the fence and beat the F out of them.
Their mom came down the street and lit into dad while we were mowing the grass. Dad told her he didn’t argue with women. She needed to go home and get her husband. He never did come down to the house. I never had any problems with those boys again and we ended up treating each other OK

we became good friends and still are.
I wonder if there is a place these days where young people still get to live this life. It wasn’t very long ago that it seemed pretty normal for a couple of fellows to earn each other’s respect and become good friends after a good scrap. Not very long ago, maybe within the last 10-12 years, my 1SG used to give “the knock out rule” during his safety brief. We had some disciplinary problems within the company, and he pretty much told us if we catch one of our own getting into some mischief, we were to literally knock him out and drag him home. We went from a company with a whole “chapter platoon” of joe’s with disciplinary problems getting kicked out, to a solid company that was ready for war within the next year. Up to that point we had kicked over a hundred people out for discipline issues or drugs in the same amount of time. I think a 1SG in the modern Army would get kicked out for the same actions. Sometimes violence is the answer. And it is better to receive criticism from a friend with good intentions than a compliment from a stranger. Even if it comes with a good smack. I think that is why it tells us in the bible, when your brother strikes you, turn the other cheek. You might need to get straightened out a little bit🤣

He was the “bad boy” and i hated him with my whole heart. To be completely honest I hated the way my girlfriend looked at him.
I have a fair bit of understanding about the female species, but this one always boggles my mind. I've seen it so many times I can't count. Very pretty girls who would have no trouble dating, getting with guys who are derelicts. Not the James Dean type who rebel a little bit but will turn out ok, I mean real turds....Little to no employment, always play the victim on how life isn't going their way, most of the time they look like a sketch pad, etc. Never been able to reconcile that in my mind what makes them do that.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I have read a lot of bluster about knowledge on here, but this may take the cake - "I have a fair bit of understanding about the female species, . . . ".

I have been faithfully married 16 years and i still haven’t figured out my one woman. All i can tell you is it’s been the highest of highs and, even within the past year, the lowest of lows. But it has been pure bliss for some months now. I give God the glory and I am so grateful ❤️

This thread won't find as much value with Blankey being on the wall. Yes, there's a definite void in the bs force. Still, Won-every-fight/Bedded-every-girl is making an effort. He's a scrapper. I'm not going to bother reading all of the posts, but I'm sure it is another typical THF 1-upper thread detailing the superb assskicking accomplishments achieved by the THF prizefighters.

7th grade, it was my cousin Chris and myself. Living across the street, he was a couple of months older and more like a brother. He was a big, slow lineman and I was RB/LB. Being the dumb athletic stud I thought I was, fear wasn't much of an issue. Especially with my cousin, plowboy Chris. We were in his front yard, I got "peeved" and was itching to teach him some respect. Wanting him to get get it started so I could kick his ever living rump and teach him a lesson, I said some thing along the lines "Hit me.". The next thing I remember was my head face up in his lap with him trying to bring me back to conciousness before Aunt Betty came out.
