I’m an old man now. But I’ve been in some great ones. I can honestly say I was in at least 100 before I got out of JR high in Odessa.

My best fight story was when I was 28 when I stopped off in a bar in Oxford Mississippi after leaving a gas plant in Batesville.
I pulled into a bar in Oxford to buy a beer. A big old boy didn’t like my Texas plates. I thought he was joking when he started in on me. This guy had 50lbs on me and I’m not small.
I was half way scared when he started threatening me. It ended up with me poking him with a pool cue followed by 50 forearms and an ambulance.

This thread won't find as much value with Blankey being on the wall.

Yes, there's a definite void in the bs force. Still, Won-every-fight/Bedded-every-girl is making an effort. He's a scrapper. up

Well, I have one fight ya’ll might find amusing. Back when I was a college boy, my younger brother and I went to a nice ‘dress nice’ dance in the big city of Natchez, Mississippi. I saw a former girlfriend with her new guy, which was Ok, and I danced with some other girls and was having a good time. Later, the former GF came to me and asked for a ride home after the party, because she had broken up with her boyfriend. No problem, I said, and went back to dancing. But here came the recently rejected guy, to tell me he’d kick my butt before he’d let me take Debbie home (I just remembered her name). Well, them was fighting words, so I handed my jacket to my brother, and the guy and I went outside and went after it. He wound up with a bloody nose and bruises. I had only bruises. I let him off the ground after my option of messing him up bad or letting him up if he’d opt out of fighting. He opted out. I had a torn and ruined dress shirt by then and grass stains on all my clothes, and some sore spots, but I won, I guess. But a half hour later the fight loser had kissed up to Debbie, and she then told me she’d ride home with him. Never even thanked my for fighting for her, which turned out to be a fight for nothing. Women…

Not the last time I did something for a female and got scuffed up physically or mentally.

No major stories here, but I knocked all that stuff off when I turned 18 and could get charged as an adult.

I did win a fight, kind of, that I tried my best to flee from.
I was 11 years and skinny as a rail. My brother and I wrestled all of the time, we even tried Von Eric moves on each other. I had gotten pretty tough. My brother was four years older than me.
On the way home we passed a house with a guy that was probably about 13 or 14 that was significantly bigger than me. He didn't go to school, cursed and smoked like a sailor. He would yell at me from the porch, and I customarily yelled back as we walked by. But he wouldn't dare come out with my brother there.
One day my brother wasn't with me, just some friends, and that guy came running out of the house and tackled me on the gravel road. I quickly had him turned over and on his face with my friends yelling for me to hit him. I did not want to fight and was scared to death. I let him up and he came at me again, and again I had him pinned. This time when I let him up, I took off running, with him in pursuit. He was bigger and faster than me and catching up. Right when he was close enough to grab me, I did a trick my brother tough me, I dropped to my knees, balled up, and stopped instantly. That guy tripped over me at full sprint and went flying then sliding down the gravel road face first, he got all skinned and busted up. I finished running home.
The next day at school my friends quickly spread word of how I beat that guy up, and I was just trying to get away.
I suppose I can call it a fistfight as he got in a few swings between being pinned.

I used to box with all my neighbor buddies growing up.

I've talked my way out of several back during my cowboy bar hoping days. I was too pretty to bleed all over my starched white, pearl snapped shirt.

In High School I was a bully.........till I wasn't. You probably know the rest. smile ani

Redranger reminded me of the worst fight I ever saw. The Dairy Bar in Ferriday, Louisiana had a gravel parking lot. Lots of teenagers just hanging out. Two guys got into an argument about something. These guys were the reverse of Studley, so let’s call them Studless. They squared off to fight and in the 10 minutes that we watched, neither landed a punch. Pitiful. Everybody wandered back to their cars and had more ice cream, or whatever they had hidden in the car.

Took martial arts from a very young age then got out of it after college. Why I don’t know, just got busy, and had moved for work.

Really tried to avoid getting into fights and could usually deescalate by talking, or just walking away. The very few times fisticuffs occurred, it ended up being over with very quickly. Then I left the area soon.

When I was young, I would get into a lot of fights at work. After I got some experience, I figured out that I would get hurt even when I was the winner. I learned to use my words to not have to get into them after that. The funniest one I ever saw though was a self proclaimed bad arse who picked a fight with a guy who boxed in the navy for 20 years. He found out he wasn’t as much of a fighter as he thought he was.

Last serious one was in the Navy in Rota Spain. Me and a surface sailor went the rounds and were well on our way to destroying the bar when the Shore Patrol arrested us. Luckily they got us into the truck before the Guardia Civil showed up, or we might have gotten shot.

Found out when I quit drinking so much that numbers of fights went WAY down, and successful results went way up!!! smile

It was the summer of ‘99, and the first summer after I graduated high school. Our church (Tripp Baptist Church in/around Sunnyvale) did not have a 20-something youth group. There were a few that just graduated, a few about to graduate, and from there it was middle aged and elderly. So we had a “certified bad@$$” that was in his early 20’s, who lived in Oak Cliff, in our youth group. He was a bully.

I swear he only came to church to get laid, and he definitely got laid and pretty much committed statutory rape to about a half dozen girls with no consequences. Parents did not care about them. He came to Sunday school just to brag about getting high and write gang signs on the board. Every Sunday when they asked for testimony he said “i like to testify I got blunted last night” like a broken record. He was the “bad boy” and i hated him with my whole heart. To be completely honest I hated the way my girlfriend looked at him.

Anyway, one day I finally called him out on his behavior. So naturally he wants to give me guff about it and i politely asked him to step out back with me. Well of course he started tough talking etc and of course everybody shamed me because he was lost. I wasn’t saved either. I believed in God but did not accept Jesus could just save just anybody from hell.

Anyway, after Sunday school he took his time getting ready to leave. I slid up next to him and quietly told him we ought to slip out and handle this before somebody can stop it and he made a scene. So now I knew he secretly feared me, and it was like blood in the water. They all came in there to “break it up” and he played that “hold me back” bullcarp.

He walked out. I had my youth pastor on one arm and my girlfriend on the other quoting scripture and shaming and admonishing me. It took us a minute to get out, they kept telling me to not even look at him. And i told them, “I swear to God, he better not say anything to me.”

Welp he was outside smoking a cigarette. Imagine something along the lines of a white version of Snoop Dogg, tall and skinny in a wife beater and sagging pants, with a cd player and headphones. Fool he was, he threw his arms up and said “whussup fat boy”, and some other garbage. I sprinted across the street and punished him relentlessly. I threw everything I had at him, and completely destroyed him.

At one point I became very fatigued, my arms were on fire and my punches had no power. It felt like my arms were pinned to my sides when he says something along the lines of “yeah, hold his @$$ for me”. And then I got scared for a moment, then that fight or flight kicked in and i started head butting him as hard and fast as I could, and then I proceeded to tear him apart.

Apparently the entire congregation tried to stop me, that is what that was. I beat him until somebody said “here comes the cops.” Wasn’t a cop, was old people in a retired crown vic that still had the spotlight 🤣

The cops never showed. He laid there like a dead cat hit by a car for a while, and for a minute everybody thought I had killed him. He did not get up or leave on his own. He did tell me he was gonna make one phone call and I am going to die or something along those lines. Instead, I got a call from his mom a few days later, threatening to sue me and begging me to replace his glasses 🤣. I doubt he was any kind of real gangster. I stopped going to church.

He contacted me on Facebook about 15 years later and thanked me for turning his life around. He got a job and got married after that. By the grace of God. He makes everything work out for the greater good.

Always love these tough guy one upper threads. Some of you cats remind me of this movie line I heard from Vin Diesel no too long ago:

“500 fights, that's the number I figured when I was a kid. 500 street fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate tough guy. You need them for experience. To develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then, after, you realize that's what you are.”

I must be the only one to ever lose a fight. Got my a$$ kicked by two little boys when I was eight years old. I probably deserved it. Like every thing in life, some you win some you lose. My brother and I were 13 months apart. Fighting was pretty much a daily thing. We both could handle ourselves. The only fight I ever walked away from was with my pop. Sucker punched me in the face knocking me backwards out of a kitchen chair during an argument I got up wiped my mouth and squared up. I was pretty sure I could take him but did not have heart to find out. Left home two weeks later for Navy RTC in San Diego. Neither one of us never said a word about that incident. Anybody ever throw hands with their dad?

I have been beat up. I don’t normally like to tell those stories, but here is a good one. I used to hang out at Addison City Limits back in the day. That’s a bar with a small boxing ring for lady’s night. It was mid-2000’s timeframe. If i remember right they had a $20 cover and of course lady’s got in free. If you signed a waiver to fight, they waived the cover charge.

When you have a challenger, you guys decide between boxing, kickboxing, wrestling/jiu jitsu, or MMA and duke it out. Well, I never really had any real challenge fighting up there, until this one night. A short little black dude, you could tell he was pretty fit and strong for his size but still so much smaller than me and short reach. He asked me to box him, and i completely underestimated him. And it was a baptism in humility that lasted less than 30 seconds, lol. Holy shmokes.
