I've been noticing jeeps driving around with little rubber ducks across their dash. At first, I thought it was just some woman or two had a thing for ducks and didn't pay much attention. Then I started seeing more and more jeeps with them in different places, so apparently there is more to this than I thought. I googled it, and it seems you jeep guys started leaving small rubber ducks on other jeeps that you like? From what I've read, if you like a jeep, you leave a rubber duck on it and then they line them up on the dash to show how many likes they have. I've owned several jeeps in the past and I'm glad this trend started after my last one. BUT, if you see my truck and want to show my that you like it? Leaving a 100.00 bill under my windshield wiper would be a good way of letting me now....Jus' sayin'......

This was started by women. No doubt about it.

I only see girls doing this. I took one off my Jeep and tossed it to the dog when I got home. I don't run down the road waving two fingers at other Jeeps either. I won't remove the doors and top because I don't want it to start leaking and whistling. My wife said I'm no fun.

Just picked up a 2 door Willys Wrangler yesterday. Other Jeep drivers do like to wave at you. Leaving green bills is welcome.

I've been wanting to buy my buddy a box of them just to piss him off, he has a jeep and the duck thing makes him cringe.

I never noticed this till a few weeks ago when my son asked me about it. He had never heard of it either. We googled it like the OP. Ive been noticing it since then and its a bunch of em and not just girls. I assume young people. I would of likely done something like that when I was young. Just a way to connect while making life a little more interesting. To each his own, no harm, no foul.

My wife has a jeep and she got a couple that people put on while she was shopping. When I saw it I said heck no and took them out. I like driving it and it dang sure ain’t gonna have little ducks up on the dash. What’s next… a big gold crown air freshener or some beanie baby’s? Nope… not today!

I had a CJ5 back in the 70's and people were waving even back then. Now that I have picked a couple jeeps, the grandkids think the duck thing is fun to mess with me, they even gave me some for Christmas! And for the first time while in mckinney I came out of academy and there was one on my jeep!! Wife laughed and sent a Pic to the kids!! I threw in the back!! They enjoy it so no harm. Just won't be on my dash....

Probably ones that wear cargo shorts, sport buzz cuts and polo shirts…

It is uncommon around here to see a Jeep without a line of ducks in the windshield. My last Jeep was in 1997 when we got the ex a TJ. Between the weird culty-ness and the current quality issues, doubt I will ever buy another new one.

'Never understood it. If you really use a Jeep for what it was intended for, the ducks wouldn't stay on the itty-bitty dash. I had an '04 Rubicon. No one ever gave me a duck. 'Guy in the Jazz band I play in has the Jeep pickup. The dash is covered in ducks. The guy really wants to be a Jazzer. He's never gonna be a Jazzer. bang

I spent some time in Moab last week, I have never seen so many jeeps. No ducks that I recall

I have a 23 Rubicon Wrangler 392. I stripped it of all badging. It is a theft magnet with the large Hemi. Completely stock except for electric side steps. Go to the lease twice a month. Not easy terrain. I have never been ducked thankfully. Others of the mall crawler variety are most likely to be. But they would probably like it.

I had no idea about any of this until a couple months ago. Had to travel for business and the car company at the airport gave me a 4-door plug-in hybrid Jeep... just about the dumbest configuration of a Jeep I can think of. rolleyes

Well I come out from a quick stop at a store, and there's a duck on the door handle. Someone thought my Jeep was "quack-tastic"... at least that's what the card said. Passed a few Jeeps on the way back to the hotel and yup, they all had ducks lining the dash.
