I entered my son in several of the youth hunts this year. The means are all listed as center fire rifle with mounted scope. He has been practicing with a 30-30 and a red dot, will this satisfy the mounted scope requirement?

For whatever reason he likes and shoots better with the red dot compared to a traditional scope, but if I need to work on something else I want to start soon.

Thanks

A scope is a scope. The state person is not going to ask about your son's scope or look through it.......

I don't know, I'd call the hunt manager on any hunt he should win and double check. Ultimately they are going to be the ones who decide the day off, so I'd want their opinion on the matter.

I imagine that they would allow it. That said...

It is also a time to get other questions answered if you have them. Compartment/blind etc.
