Long story short, young neighbor was using a lawn service and then they started popping babies out, he told me he was going to start doing the yard himself to save $$.
I had two Toro lawn mowers at the time so I gave him one of mine and let him use my new weedeater until he bought one for himself.

Well today is their last day in Texas, they have moved in with his wifes parents in Colorado and would not need it anymore. He asked me if I wanted my old mower back and I said sure.
Just walked out back and he left me not only the mower, but a very nice fairly new Echo weedeater and a gas blower.
Now that is returning the favor in Spades.

This kind act on his part reinforces the warm fuzzy feeling when you do something for others, never expecting anything in return and then bam, it comes back around.

Yep, had one of those events happen just yesterday. Won't go into details right now but it was a very nice surprise.

Moving in with wife's parents...that doesn't sound good.

You know as I have gotten older I decided to keep my eyes open for any situation where I could possibly help someone else out including strangers. I am not talking about something that cost money (although those come up at times) but rather something that simply helps another human out.

It is amazing how many opportunities come up each day if you just pay attention. Sometimes it is a simple holding the door open for someone or my wife coming home and telling me that the young lady that does her hair is in a bind financially. And truthfully as thankful as people are it really is also a gift back to you to have to chance to help someone out or return a favor - great post to the OP

I get the impression that both of them come from good well to do families that would love to have them and their grand babies stay as long as they want.

Battery

He has the same weedeater that I do, an Echo 225. Game plan is to check with family first, then friends and see who needs it and give it to them. (pay it forward).

I too have that Echo and it's been flawless for at least a decade.

Well that did not take long. Gave it to a friend who has a battery operated one that only last 15-20 minutes. He has a large property with several buildings and was very grateful.

The TORO lawnmower that I remodeled I gave it away today also.
