Anyone add the wide forend grip on your Tikka?

I'm thinking about getting it but wanted to hear how others like it. I already purchased the vertical grip and will be putting it on soon.

I assume you are talking about this product.

If so, then I think have one. I didn't technically add this to a stock. I have a Tikka 223 varmint rifle that came with one already attached from the factory. The 223 action now sits in a BRG bravo. But I took the original varmint stock and put it onto a plain jane 308 (the regular hunting version). I like it alot over the regular stock. I suppose in theory it provides more stiffness. I used it for years on the original 223 as a target rifle, meaning added a bipod and shoot it prone, and the stock worked very well. I loaded the bipod as I normally do and never felt there was too much flex that it affected my accuracy. In fact, the switch over didn't really improve the 223, just the ergonomics and comfort was way better. I love it on my hunting 308 vs the regular because i like wider grips in general (i have large-ish hands) and I really like the flat bottom. Seems much more useful in hunting situations.

Hope this helps.

This is very helpful, thank you! I'm going to buy one to see if I like it. Like you said, I think it will help the ergonomics, especially shooting from the box blind.

Got the vertical grip and forend installed. I’m very happy with it! The stock feels much better and the vertical grip makes the my trigger pull smoother. I really like this T3X stock with these add ons, makes it feel completely different.

The wide forend grip makes it more rigid too which is great when attaching a bipod. I’ll be looking to buy another one of these stocks from my Tikka T3 and will do the same thing.

I had the barrel cut to 19” and threaded by Morgan at Class 3 Machining, great job as always.

Looking good! They shoot even better than they look. This is the 20" CTR 6.5CM version with vertical and flat forearm, and a huge pig.

Just an FYI for those looking…Midwest Gun Works has both the vertical grip and wide forend for much less than Midway.
