once used brass, trying to knock the used primers out, even tried with punch and hammer, then with torch, still won't budge, surely others have had this problem, what's the answer? would rather not throw away (6mm) or recycle. Ken

Are they boxer or Berdan primers?

The decapping pin in your sizing die should knock them out--unless you've got Berdan flash holes or seriously off-center Boxers. Or re-formed military brass. I seldom deprime with sizing dies anymore (because primer catchers tend to let one too many punched out primer ping onto the floor). Instead, I use LEE's little hand punches. They're tough, inexpensive and yes, add another step in the process but also give another opportunity to look for case flaws.

I use a Lee universal de-priming die in an APP machine with four feeder tubes and funnel. Used it to process 3K pieces of 9X19mm in a few hours (decappd and resized in separate steps). You can use the Lee decapper die in a regular press. The APP just makes volume faster...and it was $89 when I bought mine, not $155. Of course I paid more to get the feeder.

Older version of this (without the priming system or stand, but with the feeder and funnel) ---> Lee APP
Basic decapping die (does not size, all manner of decapper rods available) ---> Lee Universal Decapper

Pass the gravy.

I have run into similar issues with pick up 9mm brass. Berdan primers are a no go of course. If that much resistance is felt then pull the case out of the shell holder and inspect. I have broken a couple firing pins from primer holes drilled off center. Some primer holes are so undersized it's very difficult to run the punch through them. And finally... I think somebody glued the primers in and they take a fight to extract.

Right now I am flush with 9mm brass so the object is not so much to correct for these and other problems but to cull out the brass for recycling. Unless you just can't get decent brass, life is too short to put up with these headaches. I do the same thing with rifle cases. Get rid of problem brass. Good brass with proper loads lasts a very long time.

"Group think" is not thinking. It is the lack of independent thought. It is a cancer of the mind.

Sounds like the issue we had with the 6.5 CM when a supplier decided to use a flash hole of .059 in instead of the standard size. You have to get a smaller diameter decapping pin maybe?

The Mighty Armory de-capping die will punch through anything - without breaking a pin!

Normally 6mm is not berdan primed. Cheap crap pistol brass is, not worth messing with unless you
have time and time and time on your hands and bored!

buy new brass and be done with it!
