There’s just something satisfying about making my own Flemish twist strings. The bow is fine for fast flight but I prefer B50. It has a soft, forgiving feel.

Good looking setup, never have done the strings myself though have thought about it many times after getting more back into shoot trad bows. Have a guy here that does them that I have a couple strings from him that are really good strings and good price as well.

The best way to start is to build a jig. Videos are on YT now how to build a jig and make the string. When I learned it was passed from person to person.

Doesn't look that hard from the videos I have watched on it and in 2017, planned to setup and make my own strings after the hunting seasons ended but health issues hit and never have done it.

Might set up and make some though.

Once you make a couple and the process clicks in your mind it’s like riding a bike. The best part is you decide the look sizes, the colors, materials, number of strands and such. Making the loops exactly the size you want them does away with needing string keepers.

Yep, many dozens of them for my bows over 50 years of archery and bowhunting.

Fast Flight doesn't stretch like B50 but its a bit too noisy for my tastes.

I have tons of equipment for making and serving strings, making and fletching arrows, etc....

Getting ready to give it all to my nephew as I have had to give up archery (my first love) due to a rotator cuff issue.

For me, it's not worth it. The string or two a year I buy is worth stimulating someone else's econamy.

Is there a way to rehab the shoulder ?

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Yes. If it's a tear then surgery first, but if it's just inflamed, first is rest, and then the specific rehab exercises.

I had a tear last year and partly tore the bicep tendon. Got that surgery done then after a period of a few weeks started rehab slow at first working on range of motion to get that improving then add in more exercises with more motion and weights. if you have it a lighter poundage bow started in there but the motions of the draw for the shoulder can be started with the rubber band stretches. Not sure if I still have the home exercise sheets from those days but if I find them send you those.

Had a customer ask me about bow for rehab after rotator cuff surgery I told him to ask his doc and he was back the next day and left with a 25lb Samic Sage that later he told me he had now 3 sets 25, 35 and 45lbs and was enjoying archery with his grand daughter. Doc told him that would be good therapy from both exercise stretching and more fun than just working resistance.

I have a rotator cuff issue that I was able to manage with prednisone to get thru a bowhunt two years ago.

Now, it’s still not 100% but not near as bad as it was then.

Surgery for me is a 100% last ditch effort.

Last year mine was in bad shape for months and I put an egg crate topper on my mattress and it was fine in a couple of weeks. No issues since then.

Funny you mention that…mine hurts when I sleep

Yep. I'm a side sleeper and after doing some research, I got a 3 inch memory foam egg crate. The egg crate aspect is apparently the most important part of it.

Yes, mine too. Shoulder will nearly come out of socket sometimes (side sleeper). I've had that shoulder out of joint twice though.

I used Water Ski competitively when in college, got it pulled out when practicing on the slalom course. Next time.... years later in Martial Arts.

But even without those injuries.....50 yrs of pulling back 70 lb. bows will take its toll. It just slays me to not be able to shoot my bows....but my days are over. Love traditional archery in all its forms.

You have quite an arsenal of weapons. Can't really say collection because you use them!
