What IS a putter suit? They look gay. I knew golf was gay.

I remember a great number of neighborhood dads that wore those in the 1970s.

Wifes 80yr old grandad wore those everyday back in the 90s

My dad wore them working in the yard. I called it a jump suit.

What the hell is a putter suit?

Jumpsuits were popular with all of the WW2 generation when I was a kid. Many old men wore them everyday. I never heard them called a putter suit. I may try one out in another 20 years. I’m already a big fan of overalls.

Is that like the casual version of the leisure suit?

Grandpa and my friend's dad wore them.

The rest of us had to regularly tell them the horse was out of the barn.

Dad and grandad wore them. Never heard them called that.

We called them coveralls.

Looks like the light weight coveralls I've seen old mechanics wear.

Not with bell bottoms and short sleeves. I’ve seen my wife’s grand pa wear those, he was a city guy though.

They were for when a guy was staying home and just puttering around. My granddad wore them every day except for church.

scalebuster is correct, its a WWII thing. many of the guys who came home wore them.

I think PUTTER is just a brand name. No golfer in their right mind would wear on or any other jumpsuit, they would hinder the follow thru on your swing.

They were civilian copies of USAF flighsuits. I used to see a lot of them around Abilene, mostly retired military.

Daddy wore them He would get a lot done and then drink a .99 cent a six pack of Kassel beer.

I think I still have some of them.

My grandpa, a WWII vet, wore those about 90% of the time…so the timeline checks out
