Any opinions on using rust converters on parts in receivers, etc that are riveted in place or hard to get to
or remove. Something like POR-15 that converts it to Zinc oxide. Talking surface rust you cant get to, not heavy scaly
rust. Or is it better to just drown it in good oil?

Thanks for the help guys. I knew about the steel wool/wd40 trick, and have used it before. Unfortunately the rust I need to get to, is between
two small flat plates, and all I can remove is what is around the edges. I want to get/remove/convert the rust I cant get to.
I have the POR-15 on old hit and miss engine parts, but never used it a firearm.

Will the electrolysis remove any blueing that is still on the gun as well?

I don't think it will remove bluing but bluing can be put back, a better idea than leaving rust usually.

Pass the gravy.
