I had one and generally liked it. That said, on a flat top AR, a real day scope and a normal thermal, both on quality QD mounts like ADM, or LaRue is lighter and more convenient.

AGM has a decent reputation. I've owned one AGM thermal (Adder) and was happy with it and the only reason I don't still have it is that I gave myself a retirement present last year.

Don't be afraid if the Adder models. If the conventional form factor appeals to you there's no reason (other than a bargain on a Rattler) not to go that direction. Truth be told, I've owned one thermal with the 5-button controls on top and I never did get good at operating it. I much prefer the way the controls of the tube-style thermals work, myself.

I like mine, just use it for scanning now, 640 is on the rifle. Batteries last OK, I can scan for about 4 hrs. V2 has rechargeable like the 640 V2. If you get it, make sure you upgrade to latest software. I don't use the iphone app as it just mirrors the scope view. App really needs to allow scope setup.

I am reminded that another positive thing to say about the TS35-384 Adder is battery life. IIRC, it will run up to 12 hour or more on a charge. I do not know how long the Rattler will run.

I ran mine with an external battery pack in a buttstock magazine holder, and that worked well. The system is best with scopes between 1.5-3.5x and works well out to maybe 125 yards, but you can push it a bit further. Again, the primary drawback is the weight.

With clip ons it can be difficult for some to adjust the focus on the thermal as it rides waaaaay out in front on the thermal unit

Often you’ll need to break cheek weld to reach it

Just FYI

You can spend less money and get a far better experience and image quality with an AGM TS scope vs the TC clip on. Clip ons are not popular for many reasons and a dedicated scope is better for 99.9% of the population.

I could not agree with this more. They seem to favor them more in Europe for some reason.

Clip-on thermal devices are very popular in theory, but in practice, we've found that most people generally end up taking them off to use as a scanner and buying a dedicated Thermal Riflescope anyways. That said, some people live in an area where there are restrictions on Thermal Riflescopes and those places are primarily where we see sales of the Clip-Ons.
