Lowe’s no longer gives military discounts on major appliances. According to an associate the new policy was adopted by Lowe’s when builders began using the discount to buy large quantities of appliances when they were building new developments.
Instead of limiting the quantities a person could buy, they just ended the discount for all vets.

Well dang! I was just getting set to apply for the vet discount. It's still a nice little perk that I appreciate...just not as nice as it was. We saved quite a lot when we totally outfitted our house in 2009. Getting ready for a kitchen remodel so we'll just have to shop the sales now.

Well dang! I was just getting set to apply for the vet discount. You mean you have not been getting the vet discount? It's 10% at Lowe's and HD. At least you save a little more than the sales tax. Take advantage of vet discounts when you can. Well worth it in the long run.
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Dude, I didn’t even know there WAS a discount till my ex-army neighbor bought a standby generator from Lowe’s. I’ll go ahead and get it from Home Depot if I can.

Academy has a Vet and 1st responder discount thru the 4th but it doesn't include guns and ammo.
