I got a pair of the new GenII version the Sig Sauer rangefinder binoculars last week. Have not had much time behind them yet but did take them with me to Colorado as business had me at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs all last week. I know tough assignment but I managed. I really only did about an hour’s worth of comparison between the 10K and the Vortex 5000 both with the AB onboard ballistic applications. As UTube influencers have noted the 10 K’s in this new GenII version has gotten rid of the heavy blue tint which I can say is true and colors looked better for sure. Not as true rendition as say a Kowa but way better than the older version. I wanted mainly to see how they compared to the Vortex as far as what detail I could see at distance and did some ranging from the balcony up the mountain. Glass wise really not much difference. I think the 10K/ the Vortex and the Revic RF binoculars are all quite close in that department. Ranging they are the best of that group of 3 although I did have a learning experience. I was ranging rock formations and the Vortex was giving really good results out to the 2400-2500 range so when I jumped over to the Sig and couldn’t get them much past 2100yds at all? WTH? I went back and read my directions and the new model has an extreme range mode which sends out less pulses per milliseconds but reaches further. I went in and changed it and sure enough was getting returns at almost twice as far as the Vortex. I had my 22 RF programmed in there and I remember hitting a rock that needed over 168,000 mils of elevation and 7200 mils of wind…… I did go back and change it back as my understanding is you get 4x the pulses so quicker returns and getting ranges that far are just not normally needed. The other big plus feature is how quick you can make wind direction changes. Very quick and easy but you still have to tell it how fast it’s moving of course. It’s IMO still the best rangefinder in a binocular platform and rumor is they have changed the warranty to 5 years instead of 3 which guessing just to match the Revic. Bottom line they don’t have the warranty of the Vortex and the glass is not better but if you need further and faster dope the additional 1000.00 in cost may be worth it.

I thought the glass between the new 10k and Fury AB were a wash as well. If I'm not mistaken, Sig has always had a 5 year electronics warranty that is from the date of manufacture, not date of purchase, which is pretty much a joke IMO. Did you get a chance to verify if the laser POI and the circle reticle matched in your Sig? That was the biggest problem with my Sig, the POI of the laser was at 6:30 just outside of the circle/reticle, and the doofus at Sig said that was within spec. It was very fast though.

Definitely plan to do that this week now that I am back and can get on a tripod. The Sig is adjustable which is another plus for it. My Vortex beam is in the top right edge of the circle about 2 o’clock

Adjustability is a nice feature for sure. Didn't know that about the Sig.

Well…not what I wanted to hear but what I expected.
I used the Vortex last season and they did a great job. Figured I’d try something else this season…might end up with the Leica AB’s. Was sort of thinking that, the Revic or getting myself and going back to a two optic solution and getting 12x Pures. Not sure why I do this to myself…

Put the Sig 10K’s on a tripod this afternoon to see if the laser lined up with the cross hair. I took a reflector the size of a quarter and put it on the end of a steel rod at 100 yds with a background about 5 yds behind it. Beam seemed to be perfect centered left to right so then I shot a horizontal power line at 352 yds and it also seemed to be dead nuts perfect so didn’t have to even mess with moving the cross hair.

I did something similar with my Sig Kilo 3000's. Worked out great.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.
