I had the TPWD Biologist young lady ride around the ranch with me last week. She asked if I'd be interested in them trapping and tagging some turkeys on the place, Jan./Feb. time frame. I said sure. I had no idea they are studying Rio Grande turkey that close.

So fun. Only been one time. Was like duck/pheasant hunting combined. The challenges made it the most fun species I’ve ever hunted. Thanks for your assistance in the ecology. Folks like you help keep it all going for everyone. Enjoy your next harvest!

I have only seen that many Eastern's one time and that was 20 years ago on a lease in Case County. Too bad they are south of HY82 and there is no open season there. That sucks.

There is no shortage on my lease. We are south of hwy 90 near Brackettville. They are eating my corn and protein like it's going out of style. They eat it right out of the feeder. [Linked Image]
