I'm needing some help with an infrared scope that I picked up recently. It is a Pulsar Digisight Ultra N230. I'm not finding out much on it online anywhere so I suspect its an older scope. This scope didn't have a battery with it so I'm not finding out which battery is the correct one and even if they are available. So I have been unable to test it to see if it actually works. I've tried to power it through the USB port but for some reason I'm having difficulty getting anything I have to plug into the scope. Possibly it takes it's own USB cord which I don't have.
Any info about which battery works in this scope would be helpful but even better would be if someone had one they were wanting to get rid of or would meet me (I'm in Fort Worth) and let me put it in this scope and see if this thing is just plain dead of if it would actually work if I was able to obtain a battery. Maybe I just bought a big funny looking paperweight. I'm new to all this night vision stuff and as my name suggests, I'm 71 (almost 72) so more than a little challenged with these things. The focusing end of the illuminator is missing too as is the mount on the bottom of the scope. Anyone have parts that would work on it that they are willing to part with or know where I could get them? The things I'm needing may be more than the scope is worth. I just don't know. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I got on the Pulsar website and the only thing I could find on it under customer support was their warranty conditions on what would or would not void their warranty. Couldn't find a phone number anywhere.

I could be entirely wrong, but I believe Sellmark Corp. handles Pulsar's business in the US. They're in Mansfield, Texas.

Try calling them during business hours this coming week. You have little to lose, just the time it would take to be on hold until you get to talk to someone. And who knows---they may even be able to help you. Stranger things have happened.

The N230 is discontinued. You will need an IPS7A battery. I am not sure if they are the same or not, but this will give you an idea of the price, if you can find them. This is for the IPS7 (without the A)... https://www.amazon.com/Pulsar-IPS-B...f_=fplfs&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

This is the joy of proprietary batteries. Years later, you want the unit to work and you don't have the battery and they aren't available at the local Walmart, LOL. Plus, they were always outrageously expensive. The prices aren't any different than the proprietary InfiRay batteries or other proprietary Pulsar batteries.

LittleOldMan, everything you described, plus given the age of the optic, I would strongly suggest you NOT wasting money on it. Digital Night Vision has developed quite a bit since the N230. These are what, 12 years old? You would do better with a new unit. As it stands now, you need a battery and probably an IR illuminator. Minimally, you are going to be out $150-250. For $600, you can buy a better capable DNV scope and all the accessories and be in much better shape.
