Im a very avid dove hunter but not a choke master. And I was wondering if a full choke would be to tight for dove?

I stick to modified and improved cylinder and works good for me. Anything requiring full may be too far out of range imo.

If the birds are a ways out, then no.
But let's look at the big picture:
What gun? What choke now? What shells? What size shot? What distances are you seeing? What is your pattern telling you?
If you haven't patterned your current combo, then you should. If will give you a baseline to compare any changes.
Establish a predetermined limit and stick to it. Mark of 40yds and set up varying sizes of objects to get the minds eye trained on distance. I know it sounds silly, but honestly it is very hard for some people to accurately judge distance.
How long has it been since you hit a sporting clays course?
A tighter choke is not always a cure all, blown patterns from an over choke condition is more common than most people know.
Last question, when you do shoot at birds, is it a complete miss or a clean kill, what ratio of hits to misses?

Go with Briley's Special Dove choke- It's a Light Mod that works well for most all shots from 24-40 yds

I like to set up with a defined landmark in front of me. I put my mojo dove out 20 yards and look for a bush, tree, or something else at about 40 yards and only shoot when they are in close than my landmark.

I wish I had my full choke when I was at my cousins ranch in Throckmorton. A friend sat with me and had his fixed choke full choke gun, He was hammering them that morning, I had to let them come in closer with my improved tube. Full works good if they are out there a ways.
