when i got my license, the lady said i couldnt get my permit there, so.... where do i go, and is it still free????

I pretty sure it is still free but you have to go to the nearest TPWD office to get it. I forget what they said the reason for doing this was.

Brandon it's a known fact that laying field level and shooting into a flock in a pasture using a 204 ruger is the best and quickest way to get your limit of sandhill cranes..........

ctk, dontcha know that u dont have to lay in a field!!! when ur driving around looking for deer and hogs, and u spot some cranes, stop truck, prop rifle up on window, aim and fire, then go pick up ur bird...... grin

You can call the TPWD office in Austin. The nice lady will give you a number to write on your license to act as the SC Endorement. About 3 weeks later, you'll get a paper endorsement in the mail. Didn't cost me a dime.

good to know, but can you pick them up at TPWD? I was just there yeasterday looking for my boat tags hammer

Yes, as far as I know you can also get them from the offices of the TPWD.

Yes, you can get the crane endorsement from any local TPWD office. I got mine from the Lubbock office, no problem.

Or you can go on line and buy one for $5....the crane permit is free, the admin fee is $5

well, i might look into that this thursday... i never get to drive my truck anywhere cuz its so easy to take a bus, or walk... this is a good reason to start it up!
