Don’t want lace ups, just slip on and off. Comfortable enough to wear all day, steel toe isn’t necessary. Been eyeballing the red wings, wasn’t sure if going American made is worth the premium price. What say ye? Dilly Dilly

Red wings here composite toe and fairly light weight. They are worn daily maintenance at work hunting fishing. Not cheap but comfortable.

Keen is my current favorite. Quality seems to change with time on work boots. They keep searching for cheaper manufacturing. I’ve worn them all over the years.

Thorogood...Made in the USA!
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect. Some people live an entire lifetime & wonder if they ever made a difference in the world, a veteran doesn't have that problem. Reagan

I like the Double H Anton for slip ons.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I just recently went boot shopping. My old and beloved Doc Martens had a cracked sole (which I’ll get repaired). I looked at Red Wings, which were very expensive and very uncomfortable. Went to Boot Barn and found some name boots (name I can’t remember) that would have been Ok. Finally bought some Wolverine boots at Academy. Very comfortable boots.
The Red Wings were surprisingly uncomfortable. Boardlike. I thought maybe they might eventually break in, but was afraid of the foot pain required to do that.
The Doc Martens were perfect. Got maybe 20 years out of them. Easy on and off. The Wolverines are not so easy to get on, but darn comfortable when they are on.
I really was shocked at today’s boot prices.

I work on the ranch a lot. I just wear my Ariat workhogs, or my Twisted X work boots. I go through a pair about every 1.5 years.

I just bought some today, I was amazed at the pull on steel toe selection.

If you go with Red Wings, don't get the Traction Tred lite. I bought a pair last October and the leather covering the toes already gave out, and the stitching on one toe failed within about 5 months. They put a tough toe on them which is ugly imo. I'm disappointed for the price I paid. Guess I should have gone with the heritage line.

The Ariat WorkHog Carbon toe waterproof boots are very good for the money IMO.

Ariat is Chicom junk, I got 5 months on one pair and less on another. Redwings are pretty good, I get about 18 months on a pair. Twisted X is another boot that will not last long. I had a pair of Justin’s that gave the Redwings a run for their money. None of them will last 25 years if you wear them.

Anderson Bean for everyday work, Ariat for my night job because I’m required to have solid black but they really aren’t very comfortable so I’ll be ordering some custom made boots
I’m not a big fan of the thick sole work boots because they let me roll my ankles too much, which is why I stay out of shoes.

If work boots are lasting you 20+ years then they aren't work boots

There isn’t a slip on boot out there that will be as comfortable and fit as well as a lace up. I started buying thorogoods maybe 5 years ago and now only wear slip ons to church. It sicks lacing them up every morning but even being a big boy it’s worth it to me for the comfort

Thorogood makes a lace up that has a zipper in the side. Best of both worlds. I got a full year on mine. Fat [censored] on concrete and 12-13 hour shifts. They’re still in my locker as a back up.
