Just got done mowing and the grasshoppers are the worst I've seen, this early, in a long time. I can't imagine how bad they will be by the middle to the end of July. I'd spray but my dogs love to eat them. Are they this bad everywhere?

I haven’t noticed them, this year where I’m at, but it seems like every year I think the same thing. They just become unbearable at some point. That’s what they do.

I was up that way today and the grasshoppers were the first thing I noticed. They’re bad.

Not many this year. Terrible last summer. I sprayed Bifen XTS (25.1 % Bifenthrin) on my lawn 3 times last year and it did the job. Been using Talstar P this year. It`s only 7.9% Bifenthrin but strong enough for the few hoppers I`ve got this year and much cheaper.

The turkeys here were chasing them all afternoon. Not at the house in Dallas, went to Jacksboro this weekend and noticed quite a few. Bet the Turkeys will be fat and happy.

Quite a few here but the birds are eating them. They prefer them over sunflower seed so that should knock their numbers down. The did a number on my peach trees.

We used to get overrun by those big suckers when living there. Made good target practice with the pellet gun and got some pitching wedge practice in.

I'm in Fisher county and in my 71 years I have never seen them as bad as they are this year. Stripped every flower and shrub around. My MIL next door said they put holes in some of her clothes she had hung out. We have to sweep their droppings off the porch every couple of days.

I just mowed my place south of Abilene on Thursday, very heavy with grasshoppers...maybe due to all the rain we've had and high grass.

Not much here yet.
I thought it had to be dry conditions to have high grasshopper numbers. Dry, is not what 2024 has been up until now.
I've taught my wife and daughter to leave be the Garden Spiders when they show up. They are helpers.

I've taught my wife and daughter to leave be the Garden Spiders when they show up. They are helpers. That's what I heard too. I always read that moisture disrupts their reproductive cycle. The rain has completely quit here so I think by the end of summer I won't have any vegetation left.
