I was going to wait until I was finished to post this information but I hit a bump right off so it will be a running commentary the next day or so. This brass is annealed and ready for fireforming. It’s all identical. Primer pockets are not cleaned (may be relevant). I will be using a random safe charge for all 100 rounds so no accuracy will be considered unless it’s significant between the two. I seated 50 each this morning plus 6 of the cci on formed brass for a ladder test. CCI seated as usual, but I had a lot of trouble with the WR feeding in my tray and sitting proud on some. Note I did not clean primer pockets because I don’t intend to start do that every loading. I even slightly flattened some of WR getting them seated flush. Upon completion I did some some measuring. They are the exact same diameter but the CCI are .124” tall and the WR are .130”. Upon visual inspection the cup on the WR appears much rougher than on the CCI. I attempted pictures and will post them but I don’t know if they tell the whole story. From the start the WR will have to show significant improvement in ES/SD for me to consider working out the seating issues. WR CCI

So you have not shot these yet, just seated them?
Each different primer can have a different primer height, due to the anvil. The anvil is designed to "flatten out" once seated inside the primer pocket. I would expect a different primer to require different seating pressure and adjustment when seating. I see this often.
Depending on how dirty your primer pocket is, it can take up some room between the anvil and primer pocket. I would have cleaned the pockets since you are testing a new primer.

Also noteworthy. I used my neck only with expander ball on these 100 pieces. I used bushing and mandrel on the 6 that were already formed. Mandrel .308” od. Ball .303”. That’s down from .315” fired. That’s a big difference.

Not too dirty but I get your point about cleaning for a test. Never had to do that with the CCI. No haven’t shot them yet. About to charge and seat. Then decide if I’m going to the range today or in the morning.

Another thing I would test, is loading up one round each in about .5 grain increments going up to near max for each primer. You can compare the speed to each primer with the same powder charge to see if there is any variation in velocity between the primers.

I may try that once I get all my brass formed. Headed to the range with 106 rounds now. More info to come.

CCI 200 read em and weep. Well it’s not giant but it’s a large enough sample size to say it’s real. I didn’t delete any shots from either string.

41 ES to 34 ES. 10.2 SD to 8.4 SD. There's a slight difference there.

And of course the stupid stock CTR/DMR2 combo after a good cleaning and foul nailed 2 out of 3 cards at 500. I don’t even know where the third one went but I’m impressed anyway.

41 ES to 34 ES. 10.2 SD to 8.4 SD. There's a slight difference there. I get 39 to 34 ES but yeah. A gain is a gain. I will be working the 42-4-42.7 range with the 166s. I’m actually going to load 20 of each and do a seating depth test with them. I did not have any pressure signs at 43.

To me...you're magneto speed screens show they deserve a seat at the table. There will be a case/bullet/powder combo where it will out do the cci.
My experience and opinion...first impression is positive in my opinion. I'm not going to run out and buy a semi truck load but that's good info to know if you are in a pinch. Thanks for sharing wp!
Don't let your ears hear what your eyes didn't see, and don't let your mouth say what your heart doesn't feel As much as I hate to admit it, I do like my truck

Maybe so, but they were $140/1000 to my door. Trouble with the feeder tray and seating, decent but not exceptional performance. I may not have enough CCI 200s to outlast me but it will be a close thing. For now they’re going in the drawer with my other random primers unless someone wants to play with them. I’ll mail you a 100.
