I have see a pair of Whistling Ducks that have shown up 4 of the last 7 days standing on the rail of my dock. Wonder what is possessing them to light there. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2024/06/full-9493-422574-img_2334.jpeg)

It’s safe on the rail from critters that would jump on them from a brushy area.

That's the lead element in an itinerate whistling duck gang. Honestly, I'd just move. They've already scoped you out.
No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

They are not the brightest bulbs on the tree.
We have had that number land in the yard between us and the house while fishing at the pond...just 30 yards from us.

I live in Lufkin and they just started showing up 2 yrs ago. When I mow around my pond they will just stand there untill I get about 30 ft from them then fly to other side of pond.
